daryle and I must have shopped at the same place as I bought a Austin for $50.00 also when I was 12. My next car was a 1967 pontiac parisienne 2 door hardtop, 427 jet flame 385 H.P. 400 turbo with collum shift ,bench seat. Red on red. I was 17. How I lived through that one I will never know. All the neibours for miles called it the red coffin. That car is now buried in a pit on the farm where I lived. I now have a 1967 pontiac parisienne 2+2 that came with 396 but now has 427 turbo 400 trans red on red.
'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
Ha, ha. You've had a lot of odd dealings with many "1st." cars Carl! What about the Moonshine Runner you bought at age ten?
Your the only one reading the posts Heres all my first car stories
My first car was bought in Moncton in 1966 I special ordered a Grande Parisianne Hard Top with L72 and 4 speed and air conditioning... My dad had business with something to do with boots or leggings
Anyway I used to drive the car at night, It was always heavier at the start of the run.. We put 2.73 gears in it so we could run 100 mph on the back roads in 3rd gear I sold the car after getting out of jail, and the car ended up hauling fish in PEI.. Last I heard the car was in a Derby..

You guys, don't really read, all the posts, do you??????
My first car #7 was a 66 Plymouth Satallite Convertible.. I bought it when I was 17 I robbed the local beer store, and took the money to the local Chrysler dealer.. The car was a magazine test car, and the Hemi had 10,000 miles on it ... I keep it last year, and then welded on a steel top, and used it as a derby car.. Sold it Tiny for scrap for $100.00

I went to Central Chev Olds in London Ont in 1966 with my mother on the bus (50 miles away) I wanted to buy a Nova with 4 cyl.. My mother, spotted a beautifull green 1966 Impala SS with black vinyl top and white bucket seat interior I wasn't sure I wanted a 427-425 with a 4 speed .. The car was $4300.00 and after my mother showed me how to power shift it, I said OK She wrote a cheque for it and I drove it home... It had some "busy" gears in the back end, and was noisey to drive... I got used to it, and raced every car around... It was hard on tires, and gas, and at 10,000 miles I parked it ... I think its still in Mums garage I did get a 4 cyl Nova and then a vega GT
