RE: Barrett Jacksons JFK Pontiac Ambulance a fake

I thought it was a stupid thing in the first place, selling this barely substantiated "thing". They should have took more time to really look into it! $$$$$$$ blinds a lot of people's judgement!
Even if it is/was real ... this is the vehicle that a dead president was driven in for a few minutes or so to his autopsy. Think about it.
Where's the current location of JFK's toilet?disbelief

Look at the lettering on the auction car and the lettering on the ambulance with JFK. The lettering on the auction vehicle is bigger than the lettering from the 1963 photograph. It isn't even close. The sign guy that did that lettering gets a bigass FAIL in my book.

Looking at the spot on the door of the crusher car, the spray bomb area is consistent with the size in the JFK photo.

I agree the handle thing is a matter of photograph perspective. If you saw photographs of the rear of the car, the quarterpanal tops have quite the top area to them. I also think that phone in the photo was actually a pager.

BTW, I think Carl has the toilet stored in the back of the ambulance... right next to the tub and bidet. I heard Ted Kennedy took the sink because he wanted to wash his hands of the whole sordid mess.

Interesting debate. I wonder who unearthed the crusher pics? Either way I think the car sold for too much.

All this JFK hype.....I don't get it.

Where's the limo that scooted Reagan away after he got shot? Why don't they make a big deal about him? He got shot and lived! Isn't that more notable than the guy who rode in a casket in the back of an ambulance?

I'm with gparis7 on this one, the car sold for too much.

I wish the police would treat this fraud the same as art fraud. I dont know who is the criminal here, but someone is knowingly selling counterfeit items, and he should be shot in the kneecaps with Lee Harvey Oswalds gun. It doesnt do our hobby any good.

Not good for B-J. It's up to them to confirm what is being sold imho.

I seem to look at this as a great free market experience for the rich. This has been a great redistribution of wealth from the rich to middle class America. The little guy screwed the rich and used BJ to assist him in pulling off a crime without a gun in full public view. I raise my glass to his success. Screw the rich who are ruining the hobby.

With you all the way. Remember how it used to be? If you needed something, people would help you out, maybe charge you a  a bit, If I have 3 I'll give you one sort of way to go, not how much can I gouge you for the part that you need?no

I'm no investor collector, but I absolutely would not want any of these cars, let alone pay huge money for one.
