CHEVROLET VS PONTIAC

Well ya see I have this 66' Acadian Canso SD Model #71837 . I have no engine or trans for the car so I was wondering if anyone out in Pontiac land could give me some suggestions. The car does have a 12bolt diff.  Thanks, James

We live an hour north of Edmonton so to take in any show & shines or cruises
there will have to be a little moderation. As far as freak show, love the idea but
the idea of 8mpg doesn't appeal to me. The Canadian Super Run is a heck of a
show so we would like to be able to take part in that each year. I used to have
a 69 Acadian with 355 s/b, twin turbo's and a M21 ,I really liked that power.
I want the car to handle ,thinking about putting in Alston's G machine front clip.

I would like to add,the front sub frame is in perfect condition so it kind of bothers me to not use it. I have no intention of chopping the car up or making any drastic changes but how much power can the stock frame handle and the stock steering must suck.

Frame connectors will help a ton, nice little stroker. Go with a clutch, to many auto cars out there. Nothing like banging gears.

Even though the Acadian, was sold as a separate marque, through Pontiac dealers, apparantly the car were really built by GM..     Since the 66, did offer a Chevy L79  why not try to fit one of those??  confuse

I think you should put the engine from my avitar in it. Its a big block chevy with a set of Arias hemi heads.    Or you could just build a nice 327 with a four speed and have some fun.

OK, now say we settle on a 327, what kind of power can they produce ? I'm not looking to build a grocery getter for the Mrs. We have a 69' Camaro already in the works for her.

I have always wanted to have a car from the 30's with a 6-71 blower.

I like 283's too but we seem to be a dying breed. Must be an age thing!
