Here, I'll help you. We'll go in to the future. This is me coming home from work, right down the middle of Provincial Road 330 just north of our driveway, 3 months from now.

More 401 battles I fear. It looks like you'll be hit just as hard Ray. Wednesday might be a snow day for me. When the storm hit hard here in December, I drove to work only to find us close 3 hours later.
my folks are enroute from Florida home as we speak. They made it to Kentucky today. I told them gonna get nasty by Toldeo Ohio....guess thats where the saying "Holy Toldeo"came from. LOL Hope they make it....they left London in the last snowmageden we had in Dec. I think they will be fine just past Cincinatti. After that....gonna be bad. Toldeo is expected 35cm tomorrow. and yes...I tried repeatedly to convince them to get a hotel if its bad.

I have already discussed this with the staff. The ones who drive in from the suburbs have been given permission to stay home. Most of our people use the subway and the office is just two blocks east of Yonge Street so for those it should be doable. I'll leave super early and take the Suburban, I should be ok getting in. I noted my drive takes 18 minutes normally. The big rig doesn't fit in my underground parking though.
What i am hearing now is that TORONTO is planning on calling in the ARMY, NAVY and AIRFARCE to help them with their ARMY, NAVY and AIRFARCE issued snow shovels. Mel Lastman has been called in to guide and instruct the entire operation. There has been a direct plea to Ottawa for Millions in aid to get TORONTO out of this snowy mess. My bet is that my good friend Rob Ford is going to clean up TORONTO and the snowy mess that is coming single handed. That trusty snow blower has never let me down in 17 years and it is going to have a work out in the next few days. Bring it on, i love it and it makes me proud to be a Canadian. Who needs hot sun all the time any way. Cheers. George.

Here is the official word for the Big Smoke and surrounds. It's going to be mayhem with 6,000,000 people trying to move around the GTA.
Winter Storm Watch
City of Toronto 10:00 PM EST Monday 31 January 2011 Winter storm watch for City of Toronto continued
..Major winter snowstorm Tuesday night and Wednesday..
This is an alert to the potential development of dangerous winter weather conditions in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
A major winter storm is developing over Texas and is setting its sights on the lower Great Lakes. This storm will track northeast towards Southern Ontario Tuesday..With the storm centre expected to move just south of lakes Erie and Ontario Wednesday.
Major snowstorms originating in Texas typically have a fairly large band of heavy snow in areas on the cold..Or north side..Of their track..With maximum total snowfall amounts often reaching 30 cm.
Light snow will begin in advance of this system tonight and Tuesday. However the heavier snow is forecast to begin Tuesday night and continue Wednesday morning. Potential widespread snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm are likely before the snow tapers off Wednesday afternoon in the wake of the storm centre.
In addition strong and gusty east winds will develop with the snow. This will cause local and frequent whiteout conditions in blowing snow..Resulting in near blizzard conditions at times.
The east winds are also generate lake effect snow bands off of Lake Ontario into parts of the Golden Horseshoe area particularly near Hamilton in advance of the main snow area. There is a potential for one of these to intensify into a snow squall before the main area of snow from the storm arrives. As a result snowfall amounts may be enhanced considerably especially around parts of the Golden Horseshoe near the west end of Lake Ontario.
The snow may change to ice pellets and freezing rain for a while Tuesday overnight for regions near Lake Erie.
This will be the first Major winter storm of the season for the Toronto area..And the strongest storm of the season for many regions outside the traditional snow belts. The heavy snowfall and blowing snow will cause whiteout conditions making for extremely hazardous driving conditions.
The public should be prepared to change plans accordingly to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm as travelling conditions may be dangerous at times.
Environment Canada continues to monitor this dangerous winter storm and will issue further watches and warnings as necessary. It is quite possible the watch may be expanded north and east to include the national Capital region by Tuesday morning as well.

If you want entertainment turn on the news Wednesday evening. We already have seen the Army digging out folks in your area, who knows what we will see here
Sounds like a night mare to me. Be safe you guys at least you are used to this kind of stuff. Annual flower count starts here in about 3 weeks, time to trim the palm tree! Cheers from balmy Vancouver Island.
the weather is changing so much. here in northern ont. (sudbury) for the last 4 yrs, we barely get any snow anymore. our snowmobile trails arent even open yet. we have about 4 inches of snow in total for this year. i remember we would get 30cm snowfalls at least 3 times a winter. all of the snow and storms always "just miss us" i feel for all of my southern and eastern friends. be careful guys. its never good when the weather channel uses the word "EPIC PORPORTIONS"
I took this photo along Eglinton Avenue just east of Yonge Street this morning about 8:45 am as I entered my office building....it's not really snowing just a few flurries and the roads were clear. I'll try and take one tomorrow for comparison.....if I get here

More exercise in shovelling snow. Can have a laugh at the people trying to drive when transit is much better. And to top it off it makes my Hot Chocolate so much tastier when I do make it indoors! Can I ask for more....
the heavy work truck just about will get through anything. I know the guy I`am working with is coming to Dundas from Welland so he wouldn`t make it so I `m not going in. 5 months to the day for retirement. I`m going to practice looking out the window of my home on a week day
