That's why I live on Vancouver Island..we rarely get snow, and if we do it's usually gone in a day or two...but if you need to have snow, the mountains just minutes away have lot's to go play in one day. Then you can go cruzin the next day!! AAAHHH Paradise!! Maybe I shouldn't be telling you all this, after all it's are little secret!!

I've been fighting ice dams all winter. The roof on our sunroom isn't very steep and sure enough I have water coming in. I threatened to take a bulldozer to it today! I've been up on the ladder twice today (while also trying to deal with a hard drive problem on my computer). I need another weekend to recover from this one!

I don't really mind clearing snow, it's nice to be outside in the fresh air. The problem is we are running out of places to put it. Good luck in Calgary.

You guys seem to be having record snowfalls and we just had a record 7 days straight above 35C! I suppose its all connected somehow.

Just cleared up from another 15 cms on top of the 15 cms we got on Thursday. But we had a very late start to the winter so we still don't have too much on the ground.

I have a snowblower but I don't use it much. I don't mind getting the exercise associated with shovelling.

To the tune of Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates

" My Mother says sex is like a snow storm - you never know how much you're going to get .... or how long it's going to last "

Our roof pitch isn't that steep either. I had to put a temporary extension on our "stink-pipe" to get it above the snow this year.
How old are your shingles Todd?
Mike Holmes says that a roof with a shallow pitch should be treated as a flat roof. That propane-torched, roofing material should be applied instead of shingles.
