sounds like Bull****

no Elkys were assembled in Canada

what do you think
has Balltimore trim tag vin #and build sheet!
sounds like a CKD car but shipped to a plant in the US that built them?

NOTICE!

Due to the tremendous response, which I have received, and numerous requests, I have decided to put this on eBay one last time. As stated in the article below, I wish to invite everyone to come by and see the car if possible or call me and request any pictures they want me to take. The car is solid; there is no rust or corrosion.

For Sale:A true and rare 1971 El Camino SS Canadian

My father bought this car in 1971 at Rex Osteens Chevrolet in Greenville, SC.It was one of four shipped to South Carolina for an experiment. The car was sent in a crate from Canada to Baltimore, where it was assembled.Every chrome piece, every part on it is stamped Canadian. In 1991, I stripped the car to paint it and moved to a house where the car has been garage kept.It was my intention to retire and spend my time restoring it, but after losing one lung to lung cancer, it makes it impossible for that to happen.I have every piece that I will show in the pictures.I have the original tag on the front bumper.I have all of the documentation. I even have the builders list which I retrieved from under the front seat. The car has a 350 automatic transmission, positive traction 12-bolt rear end, with the original air shocks.I have the original 5 Rally Sport Wheels that came with the car when it was purchased new.I even have a copy of the original title, etc.As I stated, I have all of the documentation, receipts, books and pamphlets that my father had in it.It also has the original full-length leather front seat.I have put new bushings in the drivers door. Also, I have bought a new grill from Canada that is painted silver. For arguments sake in most true SSs, the grills are black, but the Canadian made is silver. This car is rust free and solid. Through the years, I have bought several items related to the El Camino such as a brand new set of air shocks that is behind the seat and ready to install.I assure you that every piece of this car is here, all of the original screws, etc.The chrome, which is actually stainless steel is in great shape and looks almost new.The car runs great and does not smoke, the front end is aligned and it rides like a Cadillac. The car has 163,000 miles, which was put on by my father and me, which is mostly road miles. This is a perfect car for a father/son to restore or a collector to restore at a handsome profit. The only thing that I am requiring is to see a set of pictures of the car after it is restored.I am only asking $7500.00 which is a mere percentage of what the car will bring if it was restored properly and frame built and then the car should bring somewhere between $39,000 - $59,000.As for the $7500.00, I am asking, it is cut in stone. You may contact me by email and if you are really serious about obtaining this car, then I will send you all of the pictures of the car that you request and give you my phone number.

NOTICE:   I RELUCTENTLY PUT A BUY IT NOW PRICE AND DECIDED TO LET IT GO TO THE HIGHEST OFFER IF IT IS REASONABLE. I KNOW THAT I CAN NOT FINISH THE CAR MYSELF AND I WOULD REALLY LIKE FOR IT TO BE FINISHED. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE & THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR PARTICIPATION. REMEMBER YOU CAN CALL ME OR EMAIL ME AT ANY TIME IF YOU NEED ANY MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CAR.

Interesting concept, shipping a car in a crate and assembling it elsewhere. Sure not something normal.

I wonder if he has some Canadian documentation for it?

I don't know what anybody else thinks, but going by the way he wrote and worded that, it didn't seem as if english was his first language or that he has used the language very long. Seems kind of strange for someone who supposedly grew up in South Carolina. Possibly a scam?

7500.00 is not bad for a El camino    I would want to see the Historical paperes   His restored finished price seems a little high

Interesting story that needs investigation to be sure of anything but doesn't the B in the Vin and Trim Tag indicate Baltimore as the build plant?.
Regardless of where built, some parts could've been sourced from Canada hence the Canadian parts thing?.
