He ends up hacking the cross-member out all together and makes his own. Sure wish he would have done that to a Chevelle instead of a Beaumont. I think I'l keep the rest of my opinions to myself because my mother taught me that "if you don't have something nice to say, keep it to yourself."
"Is a V10 Beaumont a Pontiac or a Dodge?" A trick question I think as we don't know if a V8 Beaumont is even a Pontiac...

I removed my post about my dislike of cutting up a Beaumont like that but Tiny you need to relax. I hope my comment didn't piss you off and I'm sorry if it did. There was a post about that crazy L-78 Chevelle that was completely modified and everybody seemed fine with that and I guess this is no different and probably done to a less rare car. I'm trying to be more tasteful with any comments I have on stuff like this but I still have a opion and I am aloud to share it.

That car DID look solid and clean. DID. Now it's not even a parts car in my opinion.
The last post was from James (JFKHeat) saying:
John (the Viper V-10/Beaumont builder) hasn't been on the site since September. Hopefully everything is ok with him. James

Well it is what it is! Im not trying to insult anyone but lately it seems there is alot of negative comments and im tired of it I like Todd and alot of other members but I dont think I would like to be part of a group of closed minded car guys! Look at the thread where everyone hated on the fellow member who had antique plates the trash talk was not needed! or when I posted about looking for a 70's gm derby car I got trashed and im tired of it.
Can't we all just get along? Personally I never understood why you would want a dodge powered pontiac, or a chev powered ford, etc... to each their own, I think it woulda been cooler with a supercharged 455 pontiac but what do I know. Took a lot of effort to shoehorn it into that car, have to admire someone who takes on the near impossible. Bottom line is it's his car, who cares?

as far as this thread goes, we are a car group all expressing our apreiciation for canadian ponchos. of course we,re gonna get bent out of shape when somebody harms one.
I thought somebody on here once said "its your car,you can do as you please with it". personally i think its cool and took that guy alot of work and talent to do that. Then again i wanna put an LS2 in my car so i guess i'll be hated just like this poor guy.
When I last checked out that thread, it looked like most of the mods were to the frame. Maybe a little firewall & tranny tunnel molding. Beaumont frames are interchangeable with a Chevelle so most of the changes are reversible.
He took on way more than I would. Gutsy move but he seems to be doing an amazing job. It'll be a one of a kind when he's done.
I might be a little less impressed if he were hacking and cutting the body up, grafting in rectangular headlights, big wings, fender flares etc, but from what I saw, it's still going to look like a Beaumont when he's done (unless you peek underneath).
I come down in the "to each his own" camp, especially if the changes are reversible.
I can also admire his obvious ability and commitment.
As for what's it called? Everything I have on my Beaumont says it came from the Acadian Motor Division of General Motors.... I vote for BeauViper.

what you,re doing brian is totally different. its called modern retro. your not "hacking" up a rare car. you,re also installing a gm powertrain in a gm. there is a big difference between what you,re doing, and what he has done. i,m a huge fan of modern retro.
that aint the first car thats ever been chooped has anyone gone through the whole thread? The guys work is very good.If you have not checked the whole thread have a booo
tindian did you read the whole thread? You should have seen the rear deck fabwork as a panelbeater you would have appreciated the mans creativity.I guess ou guys will see the car in ontario one day and thanx for showing that carl it was cool to see im a pretty open minded rotrodder, dont blame ya fer pullin it????

I think what he is/was doing to the car is great!! It will raise the profile of beaumonts when its done and hits a magazine/show circuit!
Who cares if he puts a dodge or pontiac engine in a beaumont? neither belong in there more than the other... he wasn't cutting up the holy grail of cars!! his workmanship was outstanding, and he will have a very unique ride!!
There are people who like different types of cars, some purists, some restomods, some customs and protouring.... whatever, its just a car, do whatever makes you happy!! life is too short!
