I think i will just paint my exhaust manifolds rather than coat them. Has anyone had any luck with the Eastwood exhaust paint and an oven ? I have heard some good and some bad reports about this product ! If you have used it with good luck can you tell me the best method to apply.
I have used Seymour spray boom. High Temp Cast Blast #16-2668 Had good results. Just sprayed on and let exhaust heat cure it. These 2 pictures are from my chevelle and about 4yr old paint.
Softys (if they are still around?) carried the VHT manifold in cast iron... I've used it for many years (on headers) and never baked them...just painted them (many nice light coats) and ran them on the car...my latest set have been on there for 2 years, previous set for around 7...

How did this work out? What did you end up using and how do they look after the summer?
Brad I used the exhaust paint from Carlisle , can't remember the name but it worked good and is still on. After I sprayed them I put them in the bbq for about 1/2 hour to bake on the finish.
I used the POR15 manifold coating on my Acadian. I have not had it on the road yet but it has a couple of hours break in time on the engine, about a year or year and a half since I did them. They still look perfect. No sign of any rust leeching through like I've seen on some of the coatings. I love the look of it. The stuff looks exactly like bare cast iron.

Eastwood make good products but I swear by Seymour Cast Blast as noted above. It lasts a very long time I have used it on a lot of my cars and recently did my headers with it as well. I like it so much I have 2 cases of it in stock, 12 cans to a case.

Softys is still around, was there a couple months ago.
I agree with Carl,POR 15 works great,I accually used it on my hood hinges and latch also.And a little can goes,and goes,and goes a long way.Wish I had more.I used a manifold paint and when a rad hose burst,they looked the pits.The nice thing about the rub you can touch it up any time you want.

I have used it for years. I brush it on and brush marks smooth under heat. Don't cure it in the house, fumes are toxic. I almost killed the cat.
