I don't know Ken. I'll check and report back. It's a nice looking car.
Red, big wheels, sunroof, leather and the engine sounds cool!

1) Don't buy trends - Vibe/Matrix sound good but you are paying for demand 160 km on an 03 @ 5995 ! You can buy a GM van for 1/2. I sold my 128km montana for 3000 there's an 03 on kijiji for 2500. Plush might not feel great but its practical usually better cared foor less kms and less dollars think regal lesabre impala. Vans are good lotsa room and priced right

2 ) Don t buy warranty. Companies make miLlions on this. If a dealer
"gives" it to you then sure but not much is free. Dealers are on the hook through UCDA/OMVIC these days for most things. Ask losta questions and show your mechanic. Most repairs don t cost more than warranty anyway. Intakes aren't 1200 anymore most guys can do them for 600. Just bank on potential repairs based on that vehicles track record

3) Sell your trade privately for cash the dealer is not giving you anything for it anyway. Make your best cash deal then sell your trade for whatever you can get

4) Buying a used car is a crap shoot at best. Good luck

5) A friend just bought an 03 Toyota Highlander with 120 km for $10900 at a dealer paid $450 for Lubrico-he bought quality but wanted to be sure ? I bought my wife an 03 Rendezvous 118 km for $3800. Shop and. Don't buy trends

Thanks for all the good thoughts.
I went and looked at an 06' Impala today. It was a good riding/handling car and for a dealer, at least in my area, London/St. Thomas it's the cheapest i've found. It has 130k, asking $7900. I'm not so much concentrating on the sedan or Vibe/Matrix now.  I really do think though that i'm going to have to go with a van, for us the cargo space is a must. As it is i've had to borrow in-law's van i don't know how many times, but they got rid of that. I do have a limited budget, i'll have to finance one way or another. I mentioned before that I have been looking to try and find two vehicles. One big, one small. No need to have a sedan and a van too, something small would fit the bill.  I have a strong feeling my wife's car is going to go sometime soon so i may as well replace both. I really think i'll have a hard time selling my car(s) myself. The Corolla needs some front end work, it's going through oil, has been for a while and it's got 320k on it, which normally is fine but not this time. My wife's Focus is a 2000 with 220k, air conditioning is shot, again needing some front end work, exhaust. Both cars need windshields. They haven't left as stranded, knock on wood. Definately have done us well but i need to get rid of them. The search continues.

Over the weekend we looked at another Montana. This one has just over 100k. It's an 04' GT shortie. Excellent shape. The dealer can get me the previous owner's number so i can ask him some questions about it. Right now we can get a drop of $400 off the price and a complete warranty on it, short term though 3 months. It's a dealer my inlaws buy all their vehicles from. Both my wife and myself drove it and liked it a lot. We may have found our vehicle with a bit more dealing. There's a few questions i still want answered for my liking. We also have to decide how we're financing things plus find a second smaller 4dr vehicle. May consider another Focus. How are the G5's? I know i'm bouncing all over but keeping all my options open.

Today we bought the Montana, picking it up next weekend.  Dealer is looking for a second car for us, probably going to be another Focus, my wife likes them.  Here's a pic of the van.

Looked underneath and it is super clean.
Quuestion...i read, maybe it was here, that it's better to undercoat in the spring instead of in the fall.  Comments?

Picked up the van Saturday. My wife drove it home while i drove her car. Yesterday i said goodbye to the Corolla. A week ago i put an ad on Kijiji and the car was sold...within an hour! A guy came down from Toronto and picked it up yesterday after sending me a deposit through Paypal. I didn't expect it would go that fast! Called me within 5 minutes of the ad being posted, which was annoying seeing as it was near 10pm last Sunday night. Then two more calls within 10 minutes of that, and about a dozen emails in an hour. The callers were Toronto and Hamilton. Emails i'm assuming the same. Got fed up with the calls that late, waking up the baby, so i took the number off and once i got paid took the ad down. Still surprised it went so fast! Drove the van to work today. Drives nice, and has lots of toys. I know it's a 7 year old vehicle, but i was like a kid in a candy store. My Corolla didn't have all this stuff in it!

Thanks Ken. Yeah i was going to give it the week and if no bites take it to the wreckers. It was gone so fast i never got to say goodbye. Car had a lot of memories in it. My first new car. Had it when i met my wife, then when i got married and drove baby home from the hospital in it. Good little car!

Still looking for a second vehicle. Anybody know much about the G5 and Cobalts? Saw an 05 G5 in our price range. May still go with another Focus as we have a car for parts.

Finally the car shopping is done. I found a car for sale privately last week. Looked at it and bought it as is. Passed safety and e test with flying colours today. I was hoping to maybe go all Pontiac, with all the cars at my house being Ponchos but this one isn't. Still too good to pass up. Only 93k, oiled very well so no rust on this 2004. It's going to be my wife's car so i went with what she likes and what i still thought would be a good car. Especially the way this one was maintained. And if you want to know, it's a Ford Focus ZX5. It's going to be nice in the winter to have the traction control and the bun warmers in the front seats!
