Very nice car. You are very lucky to find one with such low mileage. That car should be kept as all original as possible.

I was doing some research on the old car manual website and found this.
Thought it would help your charging troubles.

Hope this helps

Hey Guys!
Got the charging problem fixed, it was the voltage regulator!
Now the car is scheduled next month for a new paint job, re-chroming, and new tires!(the tires on it now are the same ones from when it rolled off the factory assembly line)...."Safety First eh"
Looking for a new grill(mine has minor damage)....where should I start looking??
Bet you're all pumped about good cruising weather just around the corner eh?
Cheers!

Welcome from NB! Beautiful time capsule you got there. I'm of the opinion that its yours and do whatever makes you happy, but there are many who know more about them than I do that are likely cringing at the fact you are painting it. An original 51 with original paint is not easy to find, even if its not perfect it screams 'no bondo!' It can never have original paint again. If it were mine, and I wasnt happy with the paint, I'd paint it too.....but I am beginning to understand the merit of original paint. It certainly removes many of the unknowns to everyone who sees it.
