1968 CHEVELLE SS396(?) SEDAN

NOT MINE. DOESN'T SAY IF IT IS A REAL SS396 OR IF #'S MATCH, BUT IF IT IS REAL, I WOULD THINK IT'S QUITE RARE.

AGREED.
NEAT CAR THOUGH IF REAL.

ON A SIDE NOTE, I REPLIED TO A KIJIJI AD WITH NO PRICE(SOMETHING I NEVER DO) I ASKED FOR A PRICE. A WEEK LATER I STILL HAVE NO RESPONSE, ALTHOUGH THE SELLER HAS LISTED IT ON KIJIJI IN OTHER AREAS OF THE COUNTRY SINCE. WHAT'S WITH THESE PEOPLE? IF YOU WANT TO SELL SOMETHING YOU NEED TO PRICE IT. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS WORTH, PUT YOUR DREAM PRICE THEN O.B.O., AT LEAST THAT GIVES A GUY A STARTING POINT. I THINK MOST OF THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST LOOKING FOR A FREE APPRAISAL. THEN THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT LOW-BALLERS!disbelief

Whats up with the rear window? Wrong trim...no trim?  It looks like way too much channel is showing? (compared to this one)

NO SS 396 sedans until 1969, and only 1969. The proof of course would be in the vin. SS396 starts with 138 on a 68.

I just don't get ads with no price.

What's the first question you ask of a seller who has an ad with no price.......

So...anybody know if there is such a thing as a SS 396 two door base model, or could you order an SS package on a base model?

If not real it could be a nice phantom car with some cosmetic attention.

The only year you could order an SS 396 on a base model was 1969. The vin would be either 13437 for a hardtop or 13427 for a post.

Once again I am enlightened, the only thing I like more than working on cars is learning more about them. Thanks.

Yup, this is quite the rebody! he really massaged a 67SS into a 68 300 coupe, with SS trim?? ...yikes... 1968 concours car/wagon also started with 138xx

100% stock obviously doesn't mean 100% original...

A though occured to me, we've seen 69's with a vent window (there was a thread on here about a car for sale) and someone thought it had 68 doors. But the '69 300 chevelle came with vent windows, so would a '69 beaumont post also have vent windows??
