I know of a 1967 Beaumont SD396 396/350hp 4-speed, still wears its original paint but has been resprayed below the stripe (ya its a stripe car) I believe there was a small hole in one on the rear quarter panels behind the wheel at some point (from a rag sitting on the inside) the interior appears brand new, all numbers match-its scaled underneath from early years of poor storage, tough call for me-beaumonts are fav over chevelles to me but not to all-this current economy doesn't help and who knows where the hobby is going-that said I don't care I'd buy it for myself to own just like fair market-whats it worth ?
The appraisers don't value Beaumonts any higher than Chevelles, least not the fellow that did mine, who is highly regarded by many. My Beaumont originally had the 350hp 396 with 4 speed, engine has been changed to LS6 crate, still appraised for 40 grand.
Boy oh boy, that's a tough one Ken. I always say that stuff is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. In this case it's tough because you are talking about my favourite car of all time and that makes it worth more to someone like me. Not seeing the car and going off your description.....I would fork over $20K. Maybe more??? Stripe car, 4spd & 350hp is definitely rare. I would think this combination is just as rare as SD ragtops in 67. Out of the 117 stripe cars, how many had a stick and the 350hp 396? I would guess it is the last stripe car with factory paint as well.
I ve known the car since high school and often dreamed about how good it was he finally said "your an appraiser-make and offer" so I went on to tell him how great and rare it was and GM documents etc ... Willing to sell at the "right" price I suggested most people would pay 25 the current market was 25-30 and that although I couldn t afford it I would pay into the 30's to get it. The reply was-your dreamn-its worth double that !

Market value and sentimental value are two different things. I can understand where this guy is coming from because I don't think I'd let my 67 go for any amount of money. Heck, it was my dad's car and I remember going for cruises in it when I was a kid. What price do you put on memories like that?
Thanks for teasing us Ken! We thought you might be getting a new ride!

I don't doubt it's worth that to him. However, even though I'm not a gambler, I'm willing to bet in 2 or 3 rounds on ebay it wouldn't get to 30 these days.
I'm not saying it's not worth what he thinks it is. To him, it is. However, with the market where it is right now, chances are slim it's worth that to someone else.
I was wrong once before..................
