$10000 us = $9726.3 cdn
Aside from the shutting down of our manufacturing in Canada, it looks pretty appealing.

I DISAGREE. FIRST OFF, IF YOU'RE IN THE HOBBY FOR THE MONEY, YOU'RE IN IT FOR THE WRONG REASON. SECOND, OUR HOBBY IS DYING BECAUSE NOT MUCH YOUNG BLOOD IS GETTING INVOLVED IN THE HOBBY THESE DAYS, MOSTLY DUE TO PRICES THAT ARE OUT OF REACH FOR A YOUNG GUY/GAL. I WOULD SAY THE HOBBY IS ALREADY SUFFERING. SEEMS EVERYBODY WANTS THE MARKET TO PICK UP, BUT WHEN IT DOES, EVERYBODY IS GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE HIGH PRICES.hmm

My tip for first time entrants into the hobby is to buy a driver that can be fixed up as you drive it. The car in my avatar cost $2,800 seven years ago. I put a couple of hundred dollars in it at first for lights and cleaners but basicalaly drove it home two hours down HWY 400 at 70 mph a few days after buying it to Toronto. It depends on what you need and how much you value the car but for me this is fine. I have been convinced to drive it to Woodward this August so I'll have to spend a few bucks on brakes and rubber as a safety precaution. It's a 20 footer but I been driving it since day one. Also bought a Cadillac Fleetwood for $1700 4 years ago, coming up on 300,000 on the clock, just changed a brake line and starter so far. Car even gets driven in the winter. That my definition of a hobby car, probably not anyone else's but it allows me to meet tons of great people.

I agree-its a hobby

turned way too much into business in the last 20-25 years

my 79 year old Dad drives a spruced up 67 Chev 1/2 ton to the cruises-gets more attention than most of the muscle cars I've had-its a classic and it reminds us of simplier times

buy the best car you can in the price range you can afford-too many main stream only followers

this BB 4-speed is good value

The same guy had the 70 Monte SS for sale that was listed here a month ago also, the car has been forsale for awhile and has come down in price, I think he was asking around 13,000 for it one time. I 411 his phone number and its says its in Barrington which is a few hrs from Halifax probably that holds it back this time of year. It would be a nice car to have and as Bob Barker would say The Price is Right.

He might be storing the car at a bottle exchange. We have those out here.

I notice that it has the dash top mounted clock, so it appears that the car has a dash tach where the clock would normally go. In 66 you could also go all out on a console equipped big Chevy by ordering a bunch of guages that were stacked vertically from console to lower dash.

The car appears to be Aztek Bronze, a nice 1-year-only colour.

Personally I always love the 1966 Chevies. Dad owned a 66 Biscayne from December 65 to January 70.

Cam & sis with 66 Biscayne circa 68

I have 2 sets of those gauges.... My Dad bought a 4-speed console in the '80's that had it with the intension of installing it in my '67 Rag and then I found another set in this car a few years back..... Neither found it's way into the Rag other than the 4-speed console........ Just noticed I found 4 Aztec Bronze cars.........

biggrin........................ Well Carl, guess I have the "remains" of your old Grande wagon coming my way....... Wish I would have had the A/C control when I did my wagon... It was the only piece missing from a '68 Grande 4-dr H/T that prevented me from installing it at the time.........

Any updates on whether or not the Coupe sold?
