Mallory electronic distributors

Has anyone switched over to one of these for their inline 6, and if so what was the outcome?

Just the joy of not having to set the points anymore is probably the biggest, but it also gives a hotter spark and increased secondary voltage and current. I know some guys use the Petronix electronic ignition kit for the same purpose. I was just wondering if anyone here has done it.

I used a mallory conversion kit on a 327 back in 1973 and had no problems with it. I plan on using one again on my small block  points distributor in my 69 beaumont.

I used a "CRANE" conversion unit in the 64 Catalina. Has a "built" in rev. limiter thats adjustable!!!  heard a few cases of "FAILURES of Pertronix units. So far 5 yrs of no problems, but I still keep the points & condenser in the G/box just in case

is it an easy conversion ??
Im assuming that the + from the old coil now goes to something on the new Distributor.
then tune using a "Gun" and Cyl #1
