RE: Antique Car for sale

Think a few here are GM er's or Ford employees as the sayings are the same as the bumper stickers the Gm Oshawa folks have on their cars & trucks!!! My stepson has a Kia Reo that he's just pounding the Km's on, so far 1 rear brake shoe has de-laminated, I put a set of shoes on it[$35.00 from Kia dealer]& that's been it in 250,000 Km's I have to agree with Collin, theres nothing out there from the big 3 that is sharp looking ,& affordable. Same ol same ol, yr after yr, put a "new" badge on the front & call it next yrs. model!!! Remember when each Sept. the "new" models came out & the dealers covered the windows w/paper, & yes each yr. they looked TOTALLY different. now days you can't tell the difference from a 2008 to 2012 Suburban,GMC truck, Ford Crown Vic, Chrysler 300 etc. Buying foreign, only affects the people in those plants, so don't tell me Hungry, eat your import, I lost my job almost 3 yrs ago & had nothing to do with IMPORTS!!! You guys had better get with the real world, just like the city workers in Toronto, think they have a job for life. Guess what, "IT ISN"T SO" I'd better quit the rant now as my blood pressure just went off the dial,  Pete

nothing built overseas is better than it was when it was built here by us-its all disposible junk coming from there

we have raw materials and we have to manufacture them-if we export the raw product because we don t support our manufactured good-we are out of business

1970's we got dumped with all that junk-domestic manufacturers seen we would buy it and they could make a bigger spread so they lightened quality too to create a consumed good just like the imports

facts are facts-theres a lot more low end chevettes and acadians out there than that Pony of the same era

We make a good product and we should be proud of it and support it-if we don t -who will ????

buy what you want and die with it-and I'll buy what I want and die with it, if you like this junk so much you should take this rare oppourtunity to purchase this surviving hyundai of the mid eighties and treat it like the classic that it is maybe even start a web site for them maybe there will be a following

I lost my job 7 years ago-it wasn't in the auto industry and it was due to low quality imports flooding the market and the consumer buying it to save and almighty dollar-the long term shows no savings. The jobs are gone and will never return

i think "if" the big 3 had the same passion for thier product as you do, i dont think anybody would have to defend them. they need to get thier sh#t together, and think of the consumers that "bailed" them out.....

i agree with everything except the car part. we make alot of awsome products that are sought after by people all around the world. we are known for many of these products, as being the best at manufacturing them. we are not known for building good cars anymore.

Well made great pipes and fittings

great furniture

great clothing

great fruits and vegetables

great electronics

great childrens toys

great wood products

and we now import it all and purchase it as consumers because its cheaper-its not cheaper-it costs our country jobs and in the long run that is far more expensive

we were the envy of the world in the auto industry-only attitude has changed-we make a great automoible

once again ken, i agree with all you have said, except the car part, for the most. we WERE the envy of the world in the automotive industry, your right, attitude changed. we got ****ey with being the best and consumed ourselves with being the best. while we were all caught up in ourselves, the rest of the world was out there making a better product, at a better price. this is what it has turned into. who do we bame? ourselves? or ourselves?

they don t make a BETTER product and its NOT CHEAPER

demographics is a problem-kids don t want Daddy's Caddy

hype

different isn't different style-its different name (import)

they make me laugh-we weren't prepared ! our cars were too big ! give me a brake-we've been building our cars smaller and smaller for 30 years ! they've been building them bigger !
price ! come on ! Malibu is less than Camry

Colbalt/Focus is priced with Kia !

MDX, Pathfinder, Forerunner !!!!! come on ! cheaper ?????

the elusion has been created that an import is better ! when even car guys are believing it

they didn't even make a truck until a couple years ago if that what ya wanna call it ! and even when we get them assembled in Mexico their better !

Liberals and left wing legislated labour laws-it got cheaper for us to outsource parts too so we did (and got less quality) so now we don't have a job and the products are built in underregulated areas ! no safety-low wages-junk products but but they are cheap !

we send out raw logs we send out our scrap metal.we send pulp to make paper then we go to wallmart and the Kia dealer.We are idiots.Or our leaders are idiots.All you have to do is look around to see the damage.What will Japan want after this last natural disaster? Build another nuke in the sunami zone.The more you spend on oversea products and the more raw products we send away the more we shoot our own feet. My 2 buks worth{inflation}

That's a damn shame-not even funny

If we believe we ll survive
If not we die. Dying should not be an option. So many are willing to die
