Can anybody see if this wheel would be a problem getting collector plates if I changed the inside of the wheel with an original piece. It's for a 67 Nova.

I think I understand your question. You want to use a reproduction wheel but use your original chrome piece off your nova. I don't see why it would be a problem. I don't see how they would know the difference.
With your car being a '69 the steering wheel is suppose to be a straight bar wheel that goes from the 3 o'clock position to the 9 o'clock position, and now these guys that oversee the applications are pretty well trained and have alot of reference info at their disposal, I would be surprised if they didn't catch it. Just one guys thoughts, Dave.
That may be, sorry, its just that him and I were speaking earlier today about a '69 beaumont that he had just bought and needed a seat for, thats why I thought it was a '69.
Do you mean to say that a Canadian goverment official decides? I'd be a little put out having to go through that. I just show paperwork. I guess we are behind the times in NB. I was posted to Queen Charlotte Islands years ago and had to deal with ICBC, but didnt own an antique. I hope to never have to deal with them again. I understand that antique owners may have lobbied for such rules, but IMO, the less rules the better!
the issue here is 'Collector Plate ' I do not live in BC, but have been told , that in order to qualify for this plate, you pretty much need the original air in the tires...... The insurance is at a lesser rate as well, because the vehicle will only be used for special occasions..
My Uncle has a 69 Norton Atlas motorcycle, back in the day , he had a bunch of pieces chromed. In order for him to qualify for a 'Collector Plate' , he had to spray bomb all the non original chrome. Has to be as built , that's the rules as I understand them.
they will allow safety upgrades like tires , maybe brakes too? don't know??

You can do the brakes from drum to disc. not to sure about guages. Colour change is ok as long as it's one of the colour's from that year of car. I have seen the beaumont's with Rally wheels cause they were an option in 68. not sure about tires or battery. You can't have any bubble in the body work it must be in good condition.
