So here's my dilemna...put a new fuel pump on my 52 with the stock 239 Flathead, and I don't have enough pressure to run it. I'm running through an electric fuel pump as a back up...could this be restricting the flow? Any ideas? Need her running for the WOW next weekend...Thanx
I was thinking about the "lobe" issue, but the new pump I got has a wider surface than the original...probably twice as wide...I will bypass the electric pump and try that...Thanx alot for the help.
Do you know that your feed line out of the tank is clear? Is it an old original tank that may have a good coat of varnish inside the tank on the inlet?

I flushed the tank out last summer...little bit of rust in it, but it will work for now...anyone know what modern tank will fit nicely with out alot of modifying?
When all else fails...blow in the tank..push any **** outa the line, same problem with my buddys car flat six..old gas line..plugged, the engine should suck with the force of pump and get rid of other electric pump..thats one more restriction..suck an blow!!..I know a girl just down the block who can rid your problem for 50 bucks..lol..but ya **** bulids up in the line.
Thanx...got her figured out...bypassed the electric pump and removed the filter at the carb...now have an inline between the mechanical and the carb....seems to run good now...she does sputter and fart on occasion though....let her sit and she's fine again....vapour lock maybe?
