cool arizona Beaumont ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1964-Acadian-Beaumont-283ci-V8-engine-Arizona-car-/300538290640?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item45f97a61d0

1964 Acadian Beaumont (a.k.a. PONTIAC CHEVELLE)  Arizona car

For those who dont know the Beaumont is was actually built by General Motors Pontiac Motor Division based, almost entirely, on the Chevrolet Chevelle. Thats why in most circles the Beaumont is automatically referred to as being a Pontiac Chevelle. The Acadian Beaumont was built, by Pontiac specifically for the Canadian auto market.

The 1964 Acadian Beaumont listed here through this eBay auction is unique in many different ways. First off sometime in 1971 the Beaumont ended up in the rough and tumble U.S. Mexican border town of Nogales Arizona. Those who brought it there were from Canada and for whatever reason, sold it to a local owner (have a copy of the actual 1971 title transfer). That local owner hung unto the 64 Acadian Beaumont up until the time I purchased the vehicle in March of 2004, in Nogales. A single Arizona owner of this Beaumont for 33 years, uninterrupted. Its safe to say this Beaumont never saw a lick of road salt or, for that matter, snow. The sun did take its toll, however, on the exterior of the car. That's evident in the exterior severe sun bleaching. However, as typical in the dry Arizona climate, the interior floor pans are solid as are all other portions of the exterior body panels.   There was damage to the two driver's side doors due to the previous owner either being hit by someone or bumping them. To resolve this I ended up parting out a 1964 Chevelle and using the doors off that car as replacements.  The Chevelle doors have been mounted and the old damaged Beaumont doors removed.  The front passenger door had the glass window missing.  I have the same door, off the parted out Chevelle, which can either be used to replace the entire door or the glass pulled and inserted in the orginal '64 Beaumont door.  I also have various additional parts off the 1964 Chevelle which are to be included in this sale (all go with the Beaumont).  They include Chevelle bumpers, a full grille and headlights, a good front fender and a trunk lid and numerous amounts of chrome trim, wiper arms, etc.

ALL '64 CHEVELLE parts go with the Beaumont sale listed here.

This 64 Beaumont came directly from the factory as a "V8" (emblems on the front fenders) with a 283 CI plus the standard 2-speed transmission of the day (will cruise at 80 MPH according to the Canadian Beaumont Club). In Arizona I had the V8 283CI engine completely tuned up (new spark plugs and spark plug wires, rotor and points, distributor cap).  The carburator was aso rebuilt. Replacement tires were installed before leaving Tucson (see photos). Back in Minnesota the Beaumont had the title transferred (legitimate, legal, State of Minnesota title which will satisfy all U.S. and Canadian Customs requirements to see this 64 Canadian rarity across the border to Canada). The Beaumont, in Minnesota, was never insured and therefore, was only driven around my local neighborhood before being parked in the Fall of 2004. The transmission freely shifted and reversed worked as well. The car does not have keys to it but instead a inside starter button.

Firewall tag information- STYLE 8669  2-1-11      BODY 835595    PAINT  S   TRIM  975       #B70M35T86

The opening price listed on this auction is set at $1445.00.  That price is based on the 1964 Acadian Beaumont's rarity and this Beaumont having been a Arizona car which means its in especially good condition. Furthermore the '64 Chevelle additional parts gives any new owner a greater degree of flexibility.  If one wanted to, with the Chevelle grill, this Beaumont could be retrofitted and dressed out as a American Chevelle rather then a Canadian Beaumont. While ideally, for me, I'd like to find a new owner for this rare car, if the opening price can't be met I'd continue to proceed forward of someday having the Beaumont fully restored under my ownership.

Anyone interested in bidding on this 64 Beaumont needs to keep in mind that I can't deliver it. Arrangements would have to be made for a onsite pickup or transport through a commercial carrier. The Acadian Beaumont is located about 30 miles north of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota which makes it a fairly easy pickup for most commercials carriers. I can help with the loading on my end either with a pickup, in person, or through a commercial carrier.

How do these Canadian only market cars get to places like Arizona & Florida such that they are marketed as US cars?
