I have always said that everything is for sale for a price. I think that most of us fortunately have not been put into a situation where we have to sell our toys. I have built and sold a lot of cars over the years and have no regrets. I love building cars and always have another car waiting to build. Sometimes selling one if how to finance the next "must have" car. I love all kinds of cars and wish I could have a collection but alas I can't see it happening soon.........
Hey Ray, have seen your car several times at Chris's b.b.q. it's a nice car, and I think at cruise nights you have the same problem as me. Most people don't even know what my car is, and the one's that do usually don't know the year.
The '57 is basically not for sale, mostly due to the fact that it was my father in law's car, but partly because we're into it for probably 4 times what it'll ever be worth. everything else however, has a price (except my Grandpa's old toolbox and tools, they are never for sale, at ANY price)

Emotional attachments. They are the killer! Once a person gets them, there's no $$$ that can save them. We over spend on things that are near and dear to us and then go, why'd I do that? lol.........Good for you for hanging on to your "treasures", the value is certainly there.....if only to you. We all have them.......lol....
All my cars are always for sale, "Cars are a comodity,to be bought and sold". I had a custom truck, bought it new myself, turned down stupid money for it years ago, then ended up selling it for less than half what I was offered a few years ago. All I need are some legitmate cash offers, and they will be gone. Then I will start on something else. Roger
if i can make a few bucks on a car that i have already enjoyed, why not? like we are seeing in the market rite now, there,s lots of nice ones out there at a really decent price. in case the need to replace it arises......
Interesting question. Just after i bought the Trans Am someone left a business card on it asking if it was for sale. I had just got the car the previous month or so of that so it wasn't for sale. It was the car i had always wanted and i had it. I didn't pay a lot for it but i realize in retrospect i should have waited for one in better condition as my first classic. It was an emotional purchase, don't regret it but do see the error in that way of making a decision. Today if someone made a reasonable offer i do believe i would sell it. As it is the car needs a lot of work and i'm spending enough this year just to get good daily drivers. I don't plan on having it out this year because of that and some other expenses. Well i didn't plan on having it out, it is actually on the road at the moment until i get a second daily driver, yes in the crappy weather in Southwestern Ontario today. After that back to hibernation it goes. I've had a lot of fun with the car, and it was absolutely great to have on hand right now, but i'm not above selling it. The way i look at it there are a lot of cars that i like out there and if i wanted to sell now and hold off until i had the cash for another i'd be willing to wait, probably for a long while, and in the meantime admire as a spectator and not an owner.
I heard a fella on the radio the other day who said "look around at all of the items that you own or wish to own...and be mindful that it's all premature rubble".
