Meeting of Beaumonts - CP Members ??

I always thought it'd be fun to see how many Beaumonts we could get together in one place.  I would be thrilled if other CP members (non-Beaumont types) could bring their rides too.  It'd be great to meet some of the people from the site and see some of the cars in person.

I recall a few years ago seeing a photo of a bunch of Beaumonts parked in front of the Beaumont, Alberta road sign.  Always thought that would be pretty cool.  Seems like a natural spot, but where isn't critical.

Any interest in picking a weekend this summer and arranging a cruise to a specific location for some photos, swap some stories, maybe some parts, meet face to face, BBQ a burger, share a barley pop etc?  I (like everyone) have some (too many) commitments time-wise, but maybe if we plan on meeting at an event that is already planned - car shows, cruises, swap meets, whatever?

Maybe there are events already planned and I just don't know about them?  Wouldn't be the first time I was out of the loop!

???

I'd be good for that.  Nice and close to Edmonton.  (On a side note, before I upgraded my 20 year old tires last year, my intent was to get a picture of the old girl doing a one wheel peel by that sign.  Timing never permitted it though.)

I hear you Kevin (lueger68) - 456 gears get old real fast on a road trip (meaning any trip longer than 1/4 mile).

Nice photo Kevin (70 SS ACADIAN)!!! Are you in the photo?

I'm in the left half of the country - hence the suggestion for Beaumont AB and not Beaumont Que.

I was thinking that Beaumont would be central enough to attract some from BC, AB, SK, maybe some from MB and possibly even an adventurous soul from ON or further east...

I'm open to suggestions. Maybe a place more central for everyone, like the Lake of the Woods. That's just about as central as you can get isn't it?

I know Im crazy to run those gears but I hang pretty local and plus its only a nice weather cruiser. Still need those gears to the stroker revs up fast and the pull is insane so dont think I will change them back to the 3:73 I used to run.

I just checked the Beaumont AB website. They have a Blues Festival September 2, 3 and 4th... and I 'think' I might be available (he says boldly without checking with the boss).

Hmmm

Kanata
May
GM Cars & Trucks
Food donation entry fee...

That could be fun! Assuming by then the snow has melted enough to get the car out of the garage!

Going to Radium in Sept. that would be good for Alberta and mid B.C.ers.

I here that I'm running 4:88 in mine. the farthest i run once a year for a show is 160 miles round trip. any farther than that she gets the trailer ride to a drag strip.
If i rebuild my engine i would be up for a meet

I'd be interested if a date could be decided on.   I think the picture someone was referring to earlier about Beaumont by the Beaumont AB sign was from our club magazine.

There were two 66 Beaumonts next to the Beaumont sign.  I have the picture in my files somewhere.   When I find it I'll get it scanned and post it

I haven't forgotten about this - just been busy. My summer plans are still in flux - I'm hoping to get them nailed down soon but likely they won't be until the middle or end of June. Plan as you might, when you're self employed you're at the mercy of the clients.

That said, I'd really like to combine a Canadian-Poncho meet (with as many Beaumonts as possible) in Beaumont AB during their Blues festival September 2, 3 and 4th.

I may be free for other times during the summer but I'm waiting to hear back on a few potential jobs (and a couple family members with their own plans for my time). I've already offered the time slots so I have to be available if they want me.

    Semi-retirement. Hmmm.
