but they are so darn expensive even if its just a putt putt, and realisticaly the old ones are not daily drivers anymore. with time and some erg money you can update the older ones for alot less
I agree with Todd (new stuff has NO SOUL) well spoken Todd. New cars are flavour of the month styled, plastic wannabe cars with bells and whistles that don't belong on performance cars. No offence to those who own them.
Now let me start off by saying I love my old car, but there really is no comparison, 4 cyls now a days make as much power as my 283. Plus watch this video to see where all the weight gains have been applied in newer cars and how they affect them.
WEll..anouther thing lest we forget..a new car is what..30 grand.. if its worth anything...my old dodge for example..was 2000 new in 67..even with inflation..i could sink 4000 bucks in my moter..to break even with today..and with 4 grand sunk into a ol 383..i could make any new car eat my dust!! truth be told.
I think alot of the lost of in your pants feeling is gone due to how well new cars are built and handle, Im a old school man but new cars are just smoother and unfortunatliy faster then old muscle cars, the new LS motors just amaze me to think of the H/P they make with bolt ons gives me goose bumps.
its just not the same feeling with the new cars, but they do go faster. I would still rather drive an old one, they really make you "drive" them because of the suspension and what-not. But i must also add that ive beat 5 litre mustangs with my 2.3 litre turbo PT Loser, stock everything! (it suprised me also, i think the other guy dident know how to switch gears??) But now ive gone fast and I like just cruising in my boat with the 283, runs nice and sounds loud!!
