the canadian poncho sticker is in the front window and the keychain was on there all weekend, even though it ain't canadian, but i am. Crazy weekend talking of this car all weekend, seeing the other guys from the forum was good too, vern almost talked me into driving it out with open headers, but the brakes are untested, fired it up though to drive on the trailer and that made some heads turn, i won street machine and the master builder award for the do it yourselfer that i am. listening to people argue on what it was, was funny. I let alot of kids sit in the drivers seat and get there picture taken, gotta get the youngters into this hobby, even saw another guy doing it with his car. Next up is to drive the you know what out of it. Dan

Nice car!! Good on ya letting the kiddies enjoy the experience. I've taken my three boys to shows and anything to make the show seem less museum like to them is most appreciated.
i would ask the parents as they went by, lots of kids were scared, this guy from calgary who had an awesome general lee must have let 100 in his car, i was doing it friday first then saw him doing it saturday, he had a line up, i told him he was beating me, but his display was more forgiving on letting people get to his drivers seat, its just a car, people came by after to comment there kid wanted to see the car they sat in again. Good times.

Way to go Dan , congratulations! You are class act as well helping make those kid's day, they will remember thoses few minutes behind the wheel for the rest of their lives and with any luck you hooked a few more future builders...
Congrats! The car looked great! I noticed that alot of cars weren't even roped off, had a lot more of a "sunday night" feel to it, and just lots of cars!
Does anyone do open header burnouts down the ramp anymore?? That was probably biggest rite of passage I wanted when I first put my car in there!! Burnout down the ramp, trying not to 'rub the sides' and shutting her down when you hit the street and the police were waiting...then pushing it around the block! Lots of people used to line up to see the ramp on Sunday night... I forgot about that, it's been a while!!
Congrats again to the guys in the show! ...and all the new cars out in the city this year!
forgot all about that, went to the other end and asked him and he came over no questions asked, jumped in the car and over the rollcage, then asked me for some info on how to find a bumper, glove box door says ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Gene Winfield 2011 now. Lots of cars drove out with open exhaust, cops were watching though.
well this is a funny story, i have the 326 emblem on the back and on my sign at the show i put pontiac tri power built by owner, just to see how many would ask, lots did, but lots thought it was a 326, i fired it up in there with open headers and this old guy comes up and says "that ain't no 326" funny, 1965 389 block bored 30 over, stroked crank with 11-1 fully ported and polished 389/421 heads, tri y headers, opened up all carbs, there are no aircleaner studs, i cut them out, bigger jets(this is a matching set of carbs), ultradyne custom ground cam, motor ain't all out cause i want some streetability, petronix electronic ignition, wires and coil. 4 speed close ratio muncie, if and when i blow this i'll just buy another with the nodular iron case. i have many gears for the 9 inch. hopefully it goes all right but i don't care, going for the nostalgia look, i'd probably make more power with a newer intake and a 4 barrel but then the engine bay wouldn't look so cool. i'll bet i had more people taking pics of my plain and simple look than an all out chromed one this weekend.
