Haaaa! No problem at all. I can chime in by saying that most of all I miss the people that I worked with...I also miss what the company used to be...but I sure don't miss what the former organization is becoming. (Telecom is a somewhat ugly industry right now. But it has had the proven ability to reinvent itself time and time again.)

Can I start a new thread "What Do You Dislike About Your Job"
I'm glad to know that quite a few people here really enjoy at least a part of what they do 8+ hours of the day!

With all the drawbacks in my job, such as being away for months at a time, ultimately I love the paycheck and the time off. Not many jobs that I know of offer the time off I get but still pay well enough to support a car addiction. Most years I do most of my work in the winter months, so it leaves quite a bit of time in the summer for holidays. On average, I work about 200 days/year(or less). This leaves me 165 days to do as I choose. I love it but it's not for everyone since there is no garuntee that you will have money unless you are a good money manager. When I get time off work, it is minimum a week off and the longest has been 10 months (2009 when economy crashed). This is the life of an Alberta "rig-pig" !!! Been poking holes in the earth for 22 years and lovin' it!
I am fortunate to be the only civilian in an operational infantry battalion of over 1000 people. I manage their budget and facilitate purchases of equipment to meet their needs. I have never loved my job before this one. My unit is deploying to Afghanistan in 2011 again, so things get very interesting around here. I am lucky to be able to 'socialize' and just shoot the breeze with all rank levels, where they must generally keep within their own, or remain professional at all times. It is a unique position that fits me perfectly. I did serve 20 years in uniform, starting as an infanteer and finishing in the Finance trade. Being at the fiscal year-end right now, things are quite busy. The red tape involved in spending public money is over the top! For every dollar I spend, I probably spend 3 more proving it was fair and transparent. One of those things that have to be done I guess.
I get paid to keep the mine and mill running... I love brain storming solutions and fixing challenging problems with what we have on hand....

Work in the Armed forces as an Airforce Airframe Technician and enjoy servicing and de-snaging the blue Dash8 Aircrafts you see flying around Winnipeg training Pilots, Navigators from all around the world and Canadians. I feel my work is accomplished when they are back in the air completing their missions ... Sometimes they take me to Airshows in the States or other provinces of Canada as a reward... I could retire next summer I'll have 25 years of service...who knows, it would give me a nice pension, part time job and more time to work on my Poncho projects, also I will only be 47.

I'm in the bulk fuel industry and have been for 25 years, and 8 years as a GM partsmanager before that. The best parts of my job are : a different challenge every minute, days fly by, and I am never bored. I love all the people. Employees, contacts, customers, suppliers, most of these people treat me so good its humbling....It still amazes me after meeting so many people from so many vocations that we are all created different and there are no two the same ! My manager and I often jibe about writing a book on psychology in the work place, man could I tell stories ! Enjoy life kids and don't worry about tomorrow all we have is today !!
I consider myself very lucky to do what I do for a living. When it comes down to it helping people the way that we are able to is pretty amazing. I have the unique opportunity to see people day in day out at their most vulnerable moments, going through probably the worst day of their lives. Being able to somehow make things a little better before we jump back on the trucks and head home is very rewarding. My favourite thing about it all, the guys and busting their balls at the firehall.
Best job in the world.....until it kills you.
