Rick and Jan must be tickled pink as they itch the scratch that set them to looking for a 1969 Pontiac. I'm sure they will enjoy it. I must say that I am a little surprised that you have let your Laurentian go, but really I think your reasoning is sound. Besides, the 1969 Laurentian thing for you can partially be summarized by the expression BTDT. A different Canadian Pontiac will also give you new experiences and an even higher stature here among us.
Hey, I wonder where that gold 69 2+2 427 4-speed car out of Selkirk is now? That one would be a pretty involved project and therefore not what you seek, but that car needs to be saved!
Get yourself the nicest driver you can find and start having even more fun. Best of luck Todd!
I doubt Rick and Jan could find a better solid floor under carriage and exterior chrome on a Laurentian anywhere
Yes, it took me 20 years to find one that solid. We were luckily able to take it out for a drive today. Now we have 5cm of snow on the ground! I told Poncho the cat the car was sold. He's a little shocked but is appeasing himself by having a stiff drink and watching TV.
His mom said I better not start moping and whining about selling the car..
im sorry to hear its gone also but I agree on the fun of the hunt! Im not sure if I will be keeping the 59 as I might not really drive it alot in Mexico, plus there are some really tight roads there. Also, I can "hunt" for something pretty unique down there. Possibly want a 59?? LOL

tell him I know where theres one for less dollars-same curb appeal-and he'll have wind in his hair ! oh and turn a profit on it to buy more toys
I also want to wish you good luck. I am sure that decision wasn't made overnight and in the end it will all work out. The good thing now that you have developed this site is you will have contacts all over the country to source a car or check one out whenever you are ready to buy one.
Thanks Ken but I think I'd like something other than a late 60's B body for a change.
OK but you're missing out on the best deal in todays market. That I haven't seen it this good for buyers in 15 years ! You're the only guy selling Dodge/pontiac
Bittersweet I'm sure. You are a big boy and know what you are doing, so if its the right thing to do for you...then its the right thing to do. Congrats, and yes, the hunt is definitely a fun part when you arent in a rush.
When I read the post that you were thinking of selling I thought to myself that it must be time for a change for you. Typically when someone is contemplating a sale it usually is not long coming.
Good luck with the quest for your next toy and I know that it will be cherished as much as the Laurentian was.
I agree with most on here that the chase is often more exciting than the catch when searching for cars and/or parts. "The thrill of the hunt." I am the same way myself.
I will offer some advice as I do to many others. Don't get in a hurry and don't settle. If you know what you want stick to that. It will come along.
In our area there are more 69 Beaumont's than 68's. I know where there is a really nice red 69 that may be longing for a new home.
shocked.....cause i remember going to get that car with you and said youd never sell it cause "DADHAD1".....keep the plates ! Good luck on your quest for something else ! Hope you find something you like/keep ! Congrats on the sale
Todd, as the opening statement in that thread went:
"I've talked to a lot of folks with old cars that say they'd never part with it. Is that really true? Doesn't everyone have a price? I'm not one to really get attached to "things" and have proven several times that I in fact do have a price. I find this more to be the case as I get older. As much as my Laurentian brings back memories of my childhood riding in my parent's 69, I'd still let it go for a price. Sure, there's some cars in my past that for a fleeting moment I think I shouldn't have sold, but then when I think harder about it, I don't have any regrets. This site has proven that there are a lot of nice cars that come up for sale so if I ever really did regret selling my Laurentian, I'm sure I'd find another nice 69. Maybe I just haven't found the right car yet."

CONGRATS ON THE SALE TODD! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH NEXT. DID THE 427 EMBLEMS STAY WITH THE CAR? MIGHT BE SOME BB MOTIVATION FOR THE NEW OWNERS!

Yes got a price for 67BBSD????
Sorry about the highjack on this thread. That wasn't my intention.
Yes. Pricey. I don't really want or need to sell it.........but everything is for sale; right Todd? I had a couple offers last year over $50K. I still have the car.
