Thank goodness its going up The Government(s) were worried, as to how to replace the revenue generator...
Ya, instead of trying keep or create manufacturing in Canada! Harper has to have a good $urplu$ prior to the election so he looks good.

105.9 here in Salmon Arm. Bottomed out at about 95, but back up now.
So are you seeing more jobs out there in manufacturing land with lower oil prices and lower Canadian dollar? Sure hope so because I've had about 20% of my year's work cancelled already and at least another 25% of the remaining work likely to disappear soon.
Just for the record, Harper doesn't get much revenue from oil - that'd be the provinces. The Feds do get the income tax from individuals and businesses that make money however, but royalties are paid to provincial governments (remember the equalization payments?). Unlike royalties, federal (and provincial) sales tax on fuel is not a percentage of the gas/diesel price (I believe it's just a fixed X cents per litre), so the Feds don't really care if the prices go up or down (other than lost income tax).
Paying 83.9 here in Edmonton. The low was 67.4 a few weeks back before they inexplicably hiked prices again. Was a $1.05 before oil went into a freefall.

Cliff, that's what I used until the Shell in Nesleton closed their pumps!! Now I go to the 'reserve' on Scugog island & get their premium or the Ultramar on Simcoe St north in Port Perry, either one has "NO" ethanol in the 'good stuff" My mileage dropped on trip to USA as soon as I started getting the ethanol $hit" down there. Jumped back up at a private station that had 102 octane non ethanol gas & the Poncho just loved that tank & mileage went right back up to 25 MPG!!!!!
