1957 Pontiac Laurentian Tail Light Housings

Hi! I just joined this forum. I am in the process of restoring a 1957 Pontiac Laurentian convertible and I am looking for a pair of rechromed tail light housings. I have the original pair but they will have to be repaired and rechromed so I am trying to find a more economical solution since rechroming is so expensive in Ontario. Are the US 1957 Pontiac tail lighting housings an exact fit? Thanks in advance for your responses.

U.S. versions are the same on Cheiftains.

Star Cheifs have round red reflector above the taillight but are interchangible.

You may have to send them out west for rechrome!!! Even with the shipping it's cheaper than the Ont. prices [it's insane here] I gave an example here awhile ago of my friends 69 Cutlass frt. bumber, ended up at $1600 for repair & re-plate. Re-po's for 68 & 70 to 72 but not for his  "BUMMER"  You almost have to take out a 2nd. mortgage to get plating done in Ontario.

Thanks for the post. Where do you send them out west and how much cheaper is it?

Ask for Nelson and tell him Vern with the 57 Pontiac told you to give them a call. It can't hurt you might get a little better deal.

I can get better pics mid week,  the one is better than the  other ,, I have a few boxes of left over 57 parts, including a complete set of side stainless trim.

If you see something that needs a better look ,,let me know

It looks like you have at least one hood bar extension. Do you have both sides and what condition are they in? I am also looking for two good to very good tail light housings. I see you have two. What condition are they in? Do you have a hood bar? How about the two horse shoe rings for below the tail light housings. Thanks.

Say, I live in Edmonton and have two 57 Pontiac Laurentian convertibles.

Say,, do you have any spare "Laurentian" scripts for the side of the front fenders ??

Thanks, Ed

Hi Ed. Sorry but I don't have any spare "Laurentian" fender scripts. It took me five years to find a pair to buy and then it cost me another $500 to have them repaired, prepared and rechromed at Cambridge Plating. Good luck on finding a complete pair in any condition. They're pretty rare.
