Light reading, kinda interesting, I guess.

The final end to this story takes place within the last few years. So, I was sorta keeping an eye on this 1968 Ford wagon with a 428 in it that was parked in a yard. I didn't really want it, but was fascinated with the 428, the fact that it was black and had faux pas woodgrain siding. I think it might have had power windows too, but not really sure about that, can't remember that. What REALLY caught my eye was when I looked inside at the red interior and saw the floor mounted, mint condition, 8-track player. Some sort of original equipment (you could tell cause of color matching, etc.) and I was so impressed because I was used to seeing them in dash only, in with the radio. So anyway, couple years go by, car changes hands a few times ($125 once, free the other), somebody pulled the motor and then finally I see it up on the top of a pile of wrecks at the local auto wrecker .........and wondered, hmmmmmm. So, I tracked down the last guy that owned it and just had to ask him if he had taken that (absolutely priceless to someone) console 8-track player out of it before it went to the crusher and he said no he hadn't........*sigh*.......end of story.
