i already asked about the vette it in his will for his oldest daughter. I helped Ralf pull the body off the vette 12 years ago to rectify chassis damage from previous repairs (many many years ago). i recently lit a fire under his arse to get back at it. body has been restructured. frame damage repaired and we discovered a crack block last week (non original) and replaced with a 71 350. he does have a numbers correct 327 that he got off me a couple of years ago but the 350 will do for now while he rebuild the 327. its over at my place while he does the prep for painting.

I seen some old blue chev truck towing a vette on a car trailer today. It was traveling east, just east of Oshawa, and it was going at least 80 mph.At first I thought someone might have stolen this rig, but I guess I was wrong.

I just love seeing vehicles like yours being used for a purpose. It must of been a blast towing that vette and getting all the thumbs up !

I do use the truck. on my way to ralfs to get the vette. i took a load of scrap steel to the recycle yard. i have a sheet of restaurant grade flooring i put in the box so i don't scar the floor. as i was waiting for the yard workers to finish their coffee i noticed a set of rims that looked identical to the ones on the 55. so for 25 cent on the lbs or $27 i got a complete set of extra rims. they looked almost perfect as if someone got tired of storing them.

last week we pulled the 350 with a cracked block.

I'm always garbage picking at our Waste Watch.

I take in a load of junk (they weigh my truck going in), then I load up a pile of good junk I find there (they weigh my truck going out). I pay for the weight difference. They are actually paying me for the good junk that I find and keep!

My latest find was a 20' fibreglass boat's antenna mast that was practically brand new (just snapped off at the base). I now have a flag pole for Canada Day! thumbsup.gif

I once loaded up my truck with some great metal roofing, now my shed has a metal roof. I also collect all copper, brass, aluminum I see. They don't mind, as long as I don't over do it ... they know me there now. biggrin
