Need some help, trying to find a friends, brothers car

Hope someone can helpout Dave,he's also the owner of a L79 Acadian Canso, his brother bought it new in 66. Anyways here is a copy of the email sent tome today:

Roger, was wondering if you could assist me, I am attempting to locate a 1968 Beaumont SD, 396/325 HP.

It was ordered and purchased by my brother, he kept it for several years, in the mid 80's he let it go to Rob Maw who also lived in the Sarnia area. A few years latter Maw sold it to, as stories go, a collector in the Toronto area. It was a dark green, with black vinyl roof and black interior, SD models came with bucket seats.

I've attempted to find the colours that 68 were painted in and have also looked at the Beaumont registry, both to no assistance. If you could point me in any direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have not seen the car since it left the Sarnia area. During the time my brother owned it seen limited use or mileage, the under carriage was like original, hardly a stone chip. He sold it due to the fact he was not driving it and was discouraged because the vinyl top had a single blister. He was a perfectionist, and that day it got the best of him, as Mr. Maw happened to come along at that precise time.

Thanks, Dave

If anyone knows about this car, please email me and I will forward all information along to Dave.

  Thanks,

             Roger

With the VIN can you not trace a car through the motor vehicle registry branch. Pretty sure my brother traced down a previous vehicle of his that way. I think? If not might be needle in a hay stack. Good luck.

If you have the vin just go and buy the transfer package from the MTO. $20 and you will have the info.

If he had the VIN, I don't think I would be posting this request for help in finding the car. I was hoping that someone
on this forum might know of this car, own this car, what ever the case may be.

It sounds like a car that I have seen @ Mapleview cruise night 5-10 years back I think the car was restored by Legendary I think CDN2plus2 knows the car.

If his brother is dealing with the same insurance company there is a chance they may still have the vin of the car on his file. It is worth a phone call to find out.

I had a friend who worked at the MTO office and I do not know how she did it but she pulled up all the vehicles I ever had registered in my name since they went computerized. I think they were from the late 70.s. At the time I was looking for the vin number of my 69 caprice.
