it's a one man shop, he does most of the work himself, he's a perfectionist
the guy that did my convertible top (the old man does only tops and interiors) refered me to Dan, Dan had done the paint and body on his (can't remember the year) Bel-air convertible....... and it looks awesome
i showed him my 64 Parisienne when i wanted to restore it, but unfortunately i didn't have pockets deep enough
mine had a lot more work to be done than yours
good luck, Max

Speaking of waits, I talked to a Upolstery shop owner at a cruise about doing the 52 when I'm ready. He said he needs 2 yrs advance booking & if I wait any longer to "book" could be 3 yrs. No recession in this part of the "old car hobby" I didn't book it "cause " I don't know when I'm going to be done doing the mechanicals & wiring.

Not sure if it's the same thing that's happening out your way .?.
But out here, .... there are some guys saying ,.. "I do X cars per year" They have this attitude that they are "specialists". And they feel,."why kill your self doing 12 cars a year,.. when you can do it in the time you designate and charge the same amount split between 5 or 6 cars a year. Sad thing ,.. there are guys paying it. A friend of mine got a quote of $15,000.00 for paint on is 66 Nova and very minimal body work. Another "specialist" quoted him $30,000.00 for the same job. Both are known for their good work. And both have the attitude ,.. take it or leave,.. that's the price".
There are good guys around that do charge a "reasonable amount" for their work. Challenge is just finding them. Out Manitoba way ,... there is a guy who does amazing work ,.. lets you inspect before any paint or pre finishing material. He's done many cars of show quality. He's got about 2-3 moths waiting.
Interior guys out here,.. probably 3 months wait or so.
Things must be very different out east if they are still talking 2 and 3 year wait times.
Myself personally,.. would never wait that long if I wanted the work done.
