1967 beaumont convertible blue interior codes

OK, so my convetible is trim code 738 "medium blue"  all vinyl buckets

there are 2 blues for 1967:   731 and 738 both are all vinyl bucket codes

I want to order new seat skins from NationalPartsDepot.

Their choices are: "blue" and "bright blue"

Which do i go with?

Anyone know the corresponding codes for the chevelles(may make it easier)

NPD sells PUI interiors,  i have seen them,  nothing wrong with PUI,  they supply almost all the major catalogs including ciadella, etc, etc.  They just dont make cloth insert style, but in my case,  my convetible is all vinyl anyway.

My Chevelle parts book shows trim codes of 731 and 738 for blue bucket seat interiors as well Dave.

However, no more detail than that.

Are there some cars in the registry here that can help you sort it out maybe?

Thanks,

So we know that code 738 is "medium blue"

Now the question is 731 lighter or darker?

The center page in the 67 dealer brochure shows a convertible with bright blue interior if that helps.

 From looking at online catalogs and the pictures that Fred provided I would say it is 731 is bright blue, 738 is blue.

Where do you find the time Fred? The work you do on here is invaluable.

Would any one have any pictures of the first few SD optioned cars? I was wondering about badging, etc. Was the first car listed in the registry below, Oct 66, the first one built? Thanks for any info.

Oddly enough, I typed up a reply this morning, then locked up the computer when trying to add a picture. This time I'll type, submit, then try to edit/add a picture...

My '66 has the Bright Blue interior. It has kind of a "NASA metallic" look to it (if that makes any sense?) While I love the colour, stock bright blue belts are tough to find. Having said all of that, it sounds like Bright Blue is not what you are after.
With regards to PUI, I went with PUI skins and have not had an issue. However, I have heard that Legendary are "legendary" in their quality. Most of these comments though have pertained to the door panels. While I did go with my carpet from our sponsor NOS, my skins I picked up while on vacation in the states. They fit into my suitcase allowing me to avoid shipping costs and duty.

PS  I think that Bright Blue was only available in the SD's in 66, and the code for Bright Blue is 387.  Not so sure about the 67's though.
Hope this helps somehow.

trim tag for my 66SD

Here's what I came up with
73667 = 66 or 67 Beaumont Custom convertible
2-12-6 = production date = 2nd shift Dec 6th

832922 = consecutive production number
paint E = Royal Mist Metallic ( Dupont code DUM-2087)
Trim 387 = blue interior 66 only ( so this answers the year question above )
M35 = powerglide automatic transmission
A51 = ?
C06 = power folding top
TP10 = top colour

Yes, the model year 1967. Sorry to bring a year old post back to life. I did just get rid of the rotary phone in the house, if that helps explain anything!

Haaa. I just had a flashback to that movie where the guy on the CB radio is talking to his father on the other end from 30 years earlier. (Music from the Twilight Zone playing in the back ground.)

PS Thanks for the kind words guys.

Hi be66, my car is a very early SD (sports option)... I think it was the oldest in the registry... There were no trim differences between it and later cars that Im aware of... Any specific info you need?
