RE: 1967 beaumont convertible blue interior codes

AK, Mine was built Oct 26, 1966, it's the one listed above. I'm pretty sure that it came with a flat hood, and no louvers on the rear quarters. I'mabout to start a resto and am trying to nail down what is correct vs. what was added along the way. When was your car built?

When you say "listed above" what do you mean? I can't find the beaumont registry on here anymore (I am having a brain cramp I guess, it's on this site somewhere??)... mine was built in September 66 if i remember correctly (it's in the registry). Your car would have a flat hood (whether it was a SBC or BCC optioned car), and would have had louvres on the rear quarters... The only real trim difference I can think of off hand is if you had the 'sd' stripe option, this would have replaced having the 'sport deluxe' script on the rear quarters...but the louvres were on all SD cars... Do you have your GM vintage vehicle documents to verify your option list? If it's an SD and you have no holes in the quarters for the louvres, then the 1/4's must have been replaced at some time... if you have the car in bare metal it will probably be pretty obvious to what was changed....

I think (as mentioned in other threads) that the registry is off line for a while?
Not knowing much about the 67 SD's, the only comment I would make is that some seem to have the all chrome louvres, but I believe that is not how they came from the factory? And perhaps the rear chrome piece is different?

I'll try to find the thread, but there were a bunch of '67 SD's listed, with some links to pictures. Mine is the first one, dark blue, flat hood, white top, wire wheels, hoopty rear louvers. The 1/4s haven't been replaced, but I haven't stripped the car yet. It's a 396, 4 spd, has the SD badge on the trunk, above glove box, but not on the 1/4's.

From what i know, rear chrome is the same on all SDs ....louvres were always body colour except for the raised line on the edge... they were chrome from the factory and painted, so i'm sure many did as i did -strip the paint and leave them chrome as a personal preference.
be66, your car sounds like the 736 sports optioned car out of saskatchewan...i believe that was originally a 396 car, very rare! Probably the only one in existence... it may have come with the stripes and no quarter script, but would have come with louvres. I was chatting with that seller over the phone to take the bbc out of the car and sell it to me as a roller, i never knew a 736 convertible SD 396 existed at that time...so i assumed the car was a clone!!

ak The car was sold new at Watrous motors. Hard to pin down accurate production numbers, but would like to find out as much as I can about it, before tearing it apart.
