Any info on 1955 Laurentian Convertibles--production numbers--options etc..

Just purchased one and am having a hard time finding out much about it. Must be pretty rare or more would pop up on my internet searches. I have learned that they had the same drivetrain, chassis and most of the interior as the 1955 Chevy. Mine is yellow and white with a V-8 (265 CI I guess) automatic trans and power top. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

In searching thru the registry on this website, I saw only two listed. One listing said there were 660 convertibles produced. Does anyone else no that to be factual ?  I saw somewhere else that there were around 770 convertibles produced in 1957 and estimates are that there are 100 or less known of today (may have even been on this site ?).

I inspected in person and purchased the car but am still waiting for it to be transported to me in Kansas. By the way--you guys are on the ball !!  I've only been a member of this site for 5 minutes and am getting great response. That is really something.

That's very good to know. To be honest, I was taking a shot in the dark when I bought it, but like my dad always said "you have to take a chance to stand a chance." Now I feel a little nervous having it shipped and think I should go and retrieve it myself.

Carl is this 55 from Meaford ? If it is it was originally a western car and was restored in Meaford . The gentleman who restored it has passed on but before he died I gave him a copy of The 1955 Pontiac accessories brochure. His son now owns the car and is very pround of it.

Sorry I havn't answered--have been away from the computer. I don't have the title in front of me, but I believe I saw that the last state it was titled in was Washington. It is now in Florida. This car has been painted (nothing too great) at one time and looks to be all there and in maybe parade condition ( In my opinion). The chrome is original and needs rechromed to be nice. I also purchased a frame off restored 1966 GTO 2dr hardtop with 90K actual miles, 389 w/single carb, factory a/c, ps, pb, and 3-speed auto car in Cameo white with red interior. It was purchased just to resale though. Not sure what I will do with the 55 Laurentian Convertible. I will post photos and ask more questions as soon as I can get it transported up here to Kansas. Thanks to all who have commented.
