GM of Canada model system

I put this together some years ago:

A new system of model identification was introduced by G.M. of Canada in 1935, and this system was used up to 1965, with the first digit indicating the Model Year.  This new system also applied to Trucks: Chevrolet, G.M.C., Pontiac, Maple Leaf.

Each assembled marque was allocated a two digit code for each make and chassis model, with the second two digits representing the body style. The chassis number or serial therefore comprised of a Year Digit, and then four digits for the Model Type, and then a sequential number which was the number allocated to that vehicle in sequence on the line, starting with 0001 or later 00001.

Also, the letter S was added after the first five digits in a few cases to identify Special Chassis. All chassis were sourced from Oshawa until 17 December 1937 when Regina, Saskatchewan, Plant re-opened for the second time, and wheras Oshawa serials all started with 0 followed by the sequential, Regina serials started with 8 so that the first produced vehicle was allocated 8001 or 80001, though no Regina-built vehcles were meant for export, so this separate numbering system should not appear on any imported chassis, imported when new.
