shock mounting bolts


anyone know the size of the of the bolts that mount the shock to the lower control arm and the the rear frame crossemember. all the ones on my car where all diffrent sizes biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

The upper bolts are 7/16-14 x 1". Grade 5 or better. Bolt will be 1/2" hex.

The bottoms are usually some type of stud Johanthan, with the bolt through portion usually being 1/2-20.

I suppose bolts with spacers could be used, in that you'll need 1/2-20 x 2 1/2". Grade 5 or better. Bolt will be 3/4" hex. Bolt with washer through the shock bushing, another washer with a nut (just lightly tight), then through the axle flange with a washer and a Nylock nut. Keep the bolt from turning when tightning the nut.

i think you meant 5/16" for the upper bolts mark. wink

the lower shock stud/mounts should come with the new shocks.

Seriously, I went and measured them at 5/16 but wrote 7....

Aint age a wonderful thing? I turn 50 in two weeks!
