Well I didnt hit 500hp :(

Been almost a year since I built this motor and from what I put together lots of people told me id hit the 500hp mark. Well today it hit the Dyno and pullled 406.00 at the rear wheel... So thats around  480? at the motor. Not bad for just some timing ajustments and a metering rod change.

Now I know why people get hooked on heroin....I would give blood to do this more often. WOW what a rush!

Yep, you're right in the 500hp range, especially if you've got an an automatic. (500 flywheel minus 20% = 400hp)
The engine sounds great! I'll bet that thing is fun to drive.

454's are almost as cheap to build these days as 350s...That motor cost me maybe $4500. Although I did all the research and brought most of the parts with me.

[$4500 including polished water pump and shiny pullys and stuff]
