What a beauty, but some wheels are just begging to be insulted!

Those are the uglyest wheels one could possibly put on a nice car like that. Maybe the morons at the dealership would knock $5,000 off the price if you told them you want the car and not the wheels-because thats what some idiot paid for them thinking it would make the car sell faster. WHERE ARE THE STOCK STEEL WHEELS AND DOG DISH HUBCAPS?? OR CORRECT CUSTOM SPORT SPINNERS??

Talking Chevy and Pontiac, Palomar Red is more "brown" than Honduras Maroon but is very similar.

Agreed, spinners on a CS, and sometimes dog dishes for the fun of it.

Well,it IS re-assuring to know that I'm hangin out with people that have GOOD TASTE!

In the grand scheme of things, from a style perspective,it's pretty TOUGH to top the 64 Parisienne in ANY way.

The boys at the design studio really had this one RIGHT!

Even a set of Tru-Spoke wire wheels would look nice on that car. No 13" lowrider style though, thanks. Or maybe a set of C2 Corvette knock-offs? Maybe 5-spokes up front and cheater slicks on steel wheels out back. Anything but those circus wheels that are on it now.

I too dislike those wheels intensely. But (natch, from our avatar, I'm of two minds on this. Large wheels/tires on a vintage car have to look right. And those don't. My son, who's 29, wanted the look of a great  '63 Parisienne ragtop he saw in a video. It was a full-on, $250K cruiser done by West Coast Customs out here..absolutely awesome car. But you have to like that look. IMO you can't put large-diameter wheels on a car unless you lower it and have them properly positioned in the wheel wells or they'll look ridiculous. I really like ours now when the bags are low and the car sits "in the weeds", but I fully understand that there's lots of purists out there that think it's a sacrilege to not have either the stock wheels/tires or vintage Cragar SS's on these cars (we have all the original tires/wheels/spinner covers for ours and won't get rid of them) Also, when we put on our Ion 20's we also went with wheel spacers so it would look really "wide-track" when it was lowered. So I like the "big wheel cruiser" look but it has to be done right or it just doesn't work...IMO...

I understand what you're saying & although your wheel/tire combo would not be MY choice, they DO suit the car. (they don't look offensive like the wheels on the car lot car)

a friend of mines 67 , he added the 2 tone paint wheels as a selling feature

not sure what market hes looking for?

30gs is alot of money , kids usually dont have it and most older guys like stock or mild custom

likely would have been sold by now stock and a bit lower price without the personal mods?

this car also still has drum brakes still on the front

basicly what im saying is it was done this way to promote the selling of the car

do you think this is the way to go?

 The 2-tone paint & "circus" wheels are/were a BIG waste of time & $$$!

The Rally II wheels are just WRONG on a Canadian Pontiac, that and the 2-tone paint make it look like a GTO TIGER "wanna-be".

Everybody has their OWN ideas about different/custom wheels & the decision should ultimately be left to the NEW owner.

For MAX re-sale value, stock steel wheels, whitewalls & full wheel discs or poverty caps would be the way to go on a car for sale, let the new owner make his on choices. JMO

...I'm not sure about the paint scheme but again, the car needs to be lowered to really pull off that look. All you have to do is see the cars Chip Foose builds to get the right stance for this kind of wheel/tire combo...looks like a nice car though, as the '64 rag does as well...

I would agree that this car would appeal to a lot less people with the 'look' it has, therefore it would generate less interest, and bring less money. I see nothing wrong with restoring a car to your own taste, even the spiderman Beaumont has no negative effect on me. The problem is when it comes time to sell, you have to find someone with the same taste. To me that 67 is one beautiful ride, but wouldnt look near as good beside another 67 of equal condition that looks like it might have in the 60's or 70's. Just my 2 cents.

That's the problem I'm running into, I emailed him 3 times and phoned him, was not very helpful and never emailed me back, wanted pictures of underneath and trunk area and of course the body plate, his response was that "he didn't know how to do that and the person that does it for him is on holidays but it's a very nice car for that price"

I have a brother in-law in Regina, he's not that "classic car" literate but I'm asking him to try and get more info and pictures for me on the weekend.
