Need Help on Turn Signals on a 52 Fleetleader

When I picked up the car the left turn signals would work but very slowly, the right did not flash but the front bulb was burned out so I replaced it, then it to flashed but slowly,Digging further I found it had a 2 prong 12 volt flasher installed, I bought a 3 prong 6 volt flasher and installed it then nothing worked.

Someone had replaced the original flasher socket with a new one but I can see only 2 wires going to it they also ran new wires from the socket to the turn signal switch,

I'm stumped

Figured it out!!!! someone had put in the 2 prong 12volt flasher into the 3 prong connecter and the back of the connecter was taped into the wiring with friction tape, when i removed the tape I could see there was not a third wire, by trial and error I found if I put the 2 wires opposite each other on the 3 prong 6 volt flasher everything worked
