Find matching numbers for 1965 Pontiac Parisienne Custom Sport

I have a '65 Parisienne CS convertible and am trying to find out whether the engine I have is the original or not.

I have the VIN and block number but am unable to trace it anywhere.

Need answers before I either replace or re-build current engine.

VIN - 576567018816

Block - KV62904B

Also if the block number is for a 327 or 283.

Thanks for any assistance offered.

If you "google" chevy engine block #'s you should get want you want, surprised no one else have jumped in on this one???? There should be a casting# on drivers side rear of block where trans bolts up to block, look down between engine & firewall

The serial # definitely says a 1965 Custom Sport 6 Cyl (76567), wow what a rare car that would be, never seen a Custom Sport 6 cyl that I can remember.

I think you could get a 66 chevy  SS with a 6 so it stands to reason you could with a Pontiac as well.  It would  actually be worth more with the six just for the rarity of it but unless you like going slow its not that much fun...

Yes, I owned a 65SS ( 230 cu in ) 6cyl during university. Economical, reliable and it got from A to B
