I want to add Coolant Temp and Oil Press gauges uder the dash but I don't want to lose the use of the Idiot Lights. Oil pressure is no problem - just tee in. Coolant temperature is my dilema. My 327 only has one place for a sending unit - Intake manifold. The heads are not drilled. Does anyone know of a gauge that will flick the light on internally? I guess simular to a Murphy shut down type gauge used in stationary engines. Not looking to shut it down, just turn the light on.
Thanks, JC

You lose the original look but you can use a later model small block thermostat housing that has the correct size threaded hole in it. I think those started mid to late 70's. If you need more info I can dig it out at work tomorrow, time permitting.

I guess you could wire the Murphy to a relay that runs the light. That would be one way to do it with only one sender. I've never seen an actual Murphy switch but from what I read that would be do-able.
