65 Acadian 2 speed powerglide console wanted

Hi guys, could you let me know if anyone is looking to sell one of these that is in decent shape.  I believe a Nova console would work also, but would be nice to have an Acadian one.

Thanks

Marty

I have a very very nice one but it won't be cheap. It's from a 52,000 mile car.  I converted my SD to a 4 speed.  Do you need a shifter as well? There is someone on here looking for a shifter only I think so maybe if you each need what the other guy doesn't....

What I have is a complete conversion. I drilled all the spot welds out for the hump and removed it, saved the brackets, unpluggeded the wiring harness for the backup lamps and neutral saftety switch and all. The only thing missing is the rod from the shifter to the trans and I think it's reproduced. If you are looking for a budget console this one is not the one for you though.

You can buy a brand new reproduction console for 500.00 from Biscay restoration parts in Olympia Washington. I'm not sure if it's less or more than Carl wanted but I'm throwing it out there. All you have to do is remove the SS emblem and it's the same as a Acadian. I have held one in my hands and it looks pretty nice.

The only problem with that is it's only correct for 66-67. Most people don't know the difference and you can get away with it but the Nova diehards will pick on you if you put the later console in! If you are not going for total 100% authenticity, then it will do fine.

I'll see if I have a comparison picture. Seems to me I took one to post on one of the forums a while back.

Oops, almost forgot about the picture I promised!

Red console on the right is 65 only, black one on left is 66-67.

Notice the front part of the console in front of the opening, where it angles up. The red console is longer in that area.

Also, the finish on a 65 console is different on the top plate. It's more of a brushed aluminum where the 66-67 is more a satin type of silver/gray finish.

I think the repro consoles come with the SS emblem installed so there would be two holes that need filling to make it correct for an Acadian.

All these things are actually pretty minor and 99 out of 100 people who look in the car will never know the difference.

Cool because I would like to see how they are different.

Hi guys, thank you very much for the responses!  Carl, I am actually looking for the complete package shifter and all.  This is for the father of an old buddy of mine.  My buddy passed away awhile back and now his dad is doing a complete restoration of the car his son never finished.  The car had a column shifter, but he wanted the console instead.  He is not computer savvy at all so I said I would help him out.  If you want to PM me and let me know the cost and send a pic, that would be great as I am sure he would prefer the original if possible.

I actually have a blue 66 SD sport deluxe that I purchased a year and a half ago from one of your members here in Southern Alberta.  I should register it on your registry.  attached is a pic of my car from the car show yesterday in Airdrie, AB.

Thanks Again!

I noticed looking through them that the second last pic looks like there is rust at the left front where the chrome plate angles up. That is NOT rust!!! The bottom pic shows that area clearly. The "rust" must be some kind of reflection or something.

Also, the "missing rivets" on each side are not missing rivets. The bracket screws go through there but it makes the console look incomplete in the pics!

And......, the pics make it look like there is a spot on the top center of the plate near the back. Looks like a water mark or something. The bottom pic also shows that it's not actually there. Crazy reflections...
