Wow! Bench seat 4 speed car. 427Carl needs a project. It wouldn't take much to get that back to original.

I  didn't think these Pontiac wheels were factory ? I have one in my 72 Lemans trunk as well, rare option wheels, worth anything ?

I like a lot of things about this car and I also like making a car to suit one's own tastes, however, having said that I would like to see the documentation on this car. I am having a hard time buying that 400 & 4 speed as original to this car and in fact ad does not suggest it is original.  Nothing wrong with engine swaps and tarnny swaps though. That vinyl roof flys in the face of buying a low line T-37. Those wheels are 80's vintage Pascal. Also note that car is listed as GT 37 but its not.

Thanks for thinking of me   it reminds me of Steve Ficks 455 red lemans

          (I  should have bought it)

          If I wanted a project......

I would have grabed on the yellow/red 69 Beaumont in Chicago

I just got back from looking at it and it is the real thing ! WK 400 with 96 heads, dual snorkel, early 71 car so gold with red eyebrow stripes, dual splitter exhaust tips (gone) with cut outs in valance, 10 bolt posi, GT-37 on trunklid, rally IIs no trim rings (gone and replace with ugly 80s aluminium mags) T-37 on fenders 400 emblems behind front wheelwells on rockers (no louvers gills), rally gauges, 140 speedo, tach, black bench seat,  hood pins fiberglass header nose panel broken, rusty trunk floor caused by shagy 70s carpet lol, sport mirrors, car painted ugly grey in the mid seventies with vinyl ucky roof because the man wanted it this way, wife drove the car most of the time, taken off road in 1991, 4 speed caked with 1/2 inch of oil...so I couldn't decode it but original owners said they never replace any mechanical components...This is a really rare Tempest built to go fast ! The vin # is 233371P105719

So you feel it is a genuine GT37, not a T37?

No, too rusty (rust on lower windshield, trunk, bottom quarters and fenders, needs seats reupholstered, paint back to original, header nose panel, correct rally II wheels...) for the asking price, needs complete resto, made an offer. I should sell my cars and buy this one...lol

Wondering why T37 on fenders and GT37 on trunk. Brochures and any I have seen have GT37 on fenders and trunk.

Well thanks Pacal for going and seeing this car, you could have knocked me over with a feather when I read your report. It certainly is not anywhere near an $8,500 car imo but it does have a good pedigree.

I think I am going to send that VIN to George and get the paperwork on this, It would definitely be worth restoring.

unfortunaltly its a US build car and thats all we get from the tag(he should look for the build sheet),hopefully its canadian shipped, he could get documents from gm canada to confirm 400 4 speed(all  T-37s and GT-37 s are 23337 cars)

This car looks like the real deal to me. The vinyl top is an add on as it doesn't have the correct trim nor is it in the correct location around the quarter window.
The car would have had a vinyl floor cover originally that is likely why the floor is in poor condition and now sports the shaggy 70's carpet as pontorquer put it.
The GTO rear valance and the hood pins make for a good case.

Really cool car. Built the way the 69 SD's were. Cheapy car. Big motor.

Yes, This is how she would have looked like back in the day, gold with 4 red stripes, I meant shaggy living room carpet in the trunk, all soaked and rust underneath...

That GT-37 looks like a great resto candidate.

You just need a deep pocket. Ames & Performance Years has every piece to restore or recreate these cars.
