i tried to do a used whole trunk pan in my 70 2+2. even with it on the rotisserie i couldn't get the pan in so i ended up getting a new 3 piece.
i am also not in the rotisserie mode , ans your story does not inspire me to get the full pan , but what happened with the full pan , why would it not fit ????
if i get the ful one i will cut it in half , or i get the 3 sections
think ricky think ! ehhh my name is Louis sorry !

wouldn't fit through either opening. top the opening was to small and from the bottom the quarters were in the way. if i wanted to do the whole pan i would have had to cut out the sides/quarters. i'm figuring this is why they offer a 3 piece pan set.
so the only way to get the full pan in is if the side quarters are cut ????
if i buy the full pan arround 450.00 it is cheaper to do the 3 pan job , but more welding i guess
the 3 pans are 125.00 also 61.00 for the both gas tank braces and 70.00 for the two side braces and finally 108 for the cross rail ( where the tank straps hook in on the bumper side under the filler panel )
total 364.00 vs 450.00 and with the full pan i dont have to weld the side braces and the tank braces and the cross rail !!! so corect me if i am wrong but for 86,00 i can save quite a lot of welding !!!
so i guess its worth the 86 bucks to go with the full pan and cut in half ??

well today i finally made up my mind ( busy as hell these days ) but i have to get back to work on the old B in my garage
my plan was to get the engine rebuilt before winter and get the trunk floor done the 283 will be ready to drop in in mid october . so i ordered a full pan instead of welding a bunch of parts together ( braces , tank braces and the floor sections )
but damn i hate to cut that sucker in half to get it in , or i remove the frame from the car
could any one tell me how much work is involved with removing the frame off my car ??????????????????????? the motor and tranny are out of the car and the interior is completely gutted also . So do i only have to remove the body mounts and thats it , ????? also a couple of wires ans connectors ????
or i cut that pan in half and weld it in there
i also got a brand new gas tank and straps ans harware kit all from the parts place arround chicago illinois.

'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
been holding it for months , my winter job is snow removal, and where not removing much snow this winter , i have some loose time ,so i got to get the old B ready to put back the engine in pretty soon in the spring, and try it on the road a bit
brand new tank and straps are waiting to go under there.
i just have to decide either to cut that trunk pan in half and get it in , or lift off the frame of the car ( it would not need much to do so )
