Hood for a 65 question

Is there any difference between a chevelle and beaumont hood for a 65?

Yes, the leading edge is a different angle so the trim sits with a air gap between the hood and itself. This will make the trim sit more forward and they are less likely to match up with your Beaumont eyebrows. You can use a chevelle hood with Beaumont trim but the Chevelle trim won't work on a Beaumont hood. My 4 door Beaumont has a Chevelle hood on it.

Thanks Paul. So if I was to use a 65 chevelle hood the Beau trim wouldn't sit tight against the hood?

I will take a photo for you tonight. The Beaumont trim will sit flush at the top but not at the bottom. It pushes the leading edge farther forward on the hood and the eye brows are less likely to line up with the hood trim. Besides that the extra middle wind split holes need to be welded up. I would notice but most wouldn't.

Here are the photos. It's tuff to show the difference but tell me if you can see the difference. My four door has had the lead edge beat in to try to make it fit but you can still see it. The darker red is a Chevelle hood and the lighter red is my sd rag which has a beaumont hood. Both are Beaumonts.
