My co worker says someone stopped into the dealership with a "green Laurentian wagon" while I was on lunch. You didn't give your name. I assume it's this car? Who bought it? I'm upset I didnt get a chance to see it.
I am an avid fan of these clamshell gm wagons and it is such a rare find. I am just curious, do you still have this green clamshell for sale or has it been sold already?
I am a hobbyist mechanic and definitely don't want see this go to the derby, where most of these poor vehicle go. Anyways you can get back to me on my email: jopar88@gmail.com
That 75 Laurentian wagon is a dead ringer for the very car my friend and neighbor owned from 1975-1981, except there's was a 2-seat, not a 3-seat. Same colour inside & out. It was a tough car. My friend beat the living crap out of that thing and it just kept going. Climbing ski hills. Bowling cabbage out the clamshell game at 100 mph. Smokey burnouts. Driving through cornfields at 70 mph. Lock to lock slides that went on for a kilometer on gravel roads. Jumping elevated train tracks. I even lost my license in that car when I was young & foolish. We couldn't kill it. It had a 400 orange block Chevy that was faster than it was supposed to be, especially in that behemoth. I remember flipping the aircleaner lid so the filter was exposed, then planting my foot so the secondaries were open wide. It had a powerful scream to it, and unlike many smaller displacement screamers, this one had torque. Tires were LR78-15 radials.
I also remember a friend of my father driving out to visit us in Ancaster from Oshawa in the fall of 75 with his brand new light blue 1976 Laurentian 3-seat wagon. It also had an orange Chevy 400 small block (I checked; the car had only been purchased hours before.)
