Exactly. I am a little confused why we would think a school should take a car like this in the first place, its over 40 year old technology and would have very little if any training benefit for students to learn on a car from some by gone era.

I would think it would be cool to have it as a showcase project. Upgrade the mechanicals with newer state-of-the-art items/parts. Drop in a computerized LT engine. Isn't that what modern hot-rodding is all about.

That's strange as I believe the 350-2 was the most common engine in those cars.

Agreed, I think the 4 barrel versions are rare in comparison.

No breakdown on how many were 350-2 but I suspect the majority of them had this combo.

Wow, you can't beat the price! There is little reason to rip too far into the car when you could simply be cruising in it. I am a little underwhelmed by the 68/69 Skylark styling, with chrome louvres & strips on the trunk (it reminds me of the the excessive chrome & louvres added to the 1958 Corvette) but with careful selection of colours and rolling stock they have character. The rear bumpers have a funny shape, like they have backed into a post.

Link for the 1969 Buick brochures: http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/Buick/1969_Buick/dirindex.html

Here are a couple of pictures I snapped in the parking lot while taking my canoe down to the Rouge River, plus another of a Rally Wheel when factory equipped on a 67-69 Skylark GS (69 shown):

Yup,that's what I'd do. good old cheap top down fun. I think to many people think that it needs to be mint for fully restored in order to drive it. Just poop er up and have a blast. I've always been a closet 68-69 buick fan. Good score on your part. Very jealous.

the half quarters are junk-there is a place in michigan that sells full hardtop quarters-they are alright-not great but they work if your body man is any good-just had one installed on my 68 GS 400 car
