Last Friday I purchased a Canadian built 1960 Pontiac Parisienne Vista 4 door hard top.
It is the only one of its kind here in Sri Lanka.
I'm assuming it is a Canadian built car, as it is Right hand drive, has a straight six engine in it with 3 speed manual gearbox and has a dashboard, identical to a 1959 Chevrolet.
The Chassis number is 0773903471 and the engine number is WR190152.
So... would the chassis on this car be a 1960 Chevrolet chassis ?
Is the wheelbase and track the same as a 1960 USA Pontiac of the same model ?
How different is the suspension to a USA car ? which is better/softer ?
Are the overall dimensions of the car, the same as a USA model ?
If I need chassis parts like suspension, brake or steering system parts, I should buy 1960 Chevrolet parts ?
Body parts like the Grill and chrome trim should be the same as the USA models right ?
sorry for the many questions... i want to find out as much as possible about this car and the differences between this and its USA counterpart.
Hello and welcome aboard. Yes, the chassis is the same as 60 Chevrolet with the same wheelbase as a 60 Impala. You can't swap the suspension components from a USA Pontiac. As for which is better, they are about the same. Some trim like a grille will fit but many body panels will not due to the extra length of the U.S model. Do you have any photos of your car? We'd love to see it! Todd

You'll have to measure your car. If the Wheelbase differs that I doubt doors interchange. If the length is different I also doubt fenders or 1/4 panels will interchange either.
