Funny enough the Acadian and Beaumont styling changes were done by Pontiac design staff in Detroit. A couple of years ago the actual gentleman responsible for this spoke at POCI convention. He said his job was to make the Chevelle and Chevy II look as much as possible like a Pontiac.

How do you know this stuff???

He was at the 2009 Convention and gave a seminar. Jim Ewen is his name.

That's Jim Ewen in the middle with some of the gang in front of Joe Lizon's 65 SD L79 car.

I think the London area had it's share of GTO's. Remember checking out Sinclair Pontiac one Sunday morning. Six (1966) GTO's in a row. Two of them convertibles, the red one was a tri power. Looked like they had just been unloaded

I think he means the referance to Fannie as in england that would refer to your behind, rear end, butt, etc.  If you were to say "this is my fannie" or" how do like my fannie " when refering to your car, it might be taken the wrong way.smile.gif

Being from the NEW-old country, Newfoundland, and taking a stab in the dark, if you took the car to the old country, the UK where our roots lay, Fannie is a slang term for a$$... You wouldn't want to have a car named A$$, would you??? wink

And just to edit, Ian posted the answer while I was typing..... Darn slow fingers!!!
