Congrats Carl!

Love that car. Good incentive for the kids to keep on the right path.

 What was the end result of the problems when you first fired up that new motor? I missed that post.

I often think that for someone without a lot of space, a car just like your's would have been a far better choice than a 18' long B body. It would fit anywhere with room to actually work round it.

A lot of cool things re this feature...A beautiful car (Love that engine bay!)...a great history of both the car and the individual...always nice to see a cool Cdn car so appreciated..very cool pictures of the "build"... but perhaps the coolest thing is the quote:
"I have promised each of our two children a classic car when they turn 21 if they are living a good lifestyle, free of alchohol, drugs, tobacco etc. (currently they are 14 and 16) Our daughter is excited about the prospect of getting this car in 7 years. It will be hard to give up but easily worth it. Cars are a ton of fun but family is still much more precious."

Not too many people notice the difference. If I make it to turkeyfest in Daytona in Nov. I will look for some tinted vent window glass for your 65. Do you know what year the change went from shade lite to soft ray?

No, I'm afraid I don't Al.

Don't sweat it though. If some falls in your lap, that would be great. I actually need both sides. It is the same, 62-65 but it has to be from a hardtop, not a sedan, wagon or post car.

Thanks Elroy. My kids have no choice. They see my hobby time divided between cottaging /old cars and not a lot else. They have no choice but to enjoy both! Kidding of course, but thankfully both share the enthusiasm for both hobbies without arm twisting.

As far as the Rally I wheels on the car, I put them on in about 1993 because they were different. I am not tired of the Canadian Pontiac small centre rally but there's a lot of them out there and I wanted to be different. They are so similar some people have thought that is what they are.

And to think back in the day I probably even rode my bike past that car, I lived in that area, 77 - 79, but it would have just been another cool old car in the neighborhood to a 10 year old kid.

Yeah I looked up the address, I used to live on Garfield, up near Sargent, but used to ride around the armories all the time looking at all the cool army trucks and stuff.
Wasn't a lot of cool stuff that I remember, I was 10 when we moved. Dad had a 56 F100 & Mom had a 62 Laurentian, 4 dr sedan, dad always the hot rodder, put 300hp 327, th400, and the buckets and console from a 68? maybe 2+2, had the horseshoe shifter. It used to surprise a few of the local young guys, vanilla cream plane jane sedan.
If only I was a little older before we moved out of the city, who knows what other treasures were lurking that I might have found.

Carl,thats one nice ride.I often thought of a 327 4 speed for my 62 Acadian Beaumont De Luxe.My car is all original now and I fear of losing value by changing the car drive train.Again congrats on one super looking car.

I was just doing some little odds and ends on my car and it suddenly hit me that I never answered this question for you.

I have no concrete answer though. I have not licensed the car yet so it has not seen any highway use. However, the knock only is there if I idle it right down so much that it is fighting real hard to stay running, as in that video. The oil pressure never drops below about 25 pounds from what I have seen. I am second guessing that noise now. I am not positive that it is even a bearing knock. The break in oil is still in there. I plan to change it whenever I take the car to our dealership where I will have it on a hoist to do the exhaust. At that time I'm going to check the oil for filings but I'm not real convinced there will be any. If it was a bearing knock, I really think it would show up under other conditions such as throttle tip in, revving it up to higher rpm, cold, hot, something else and it's dead quiet under all those things.
