I was just doing some little odds and ends on my car and it suddenly hit me that I never answered this question for you.

I have no concrete answer though. I have not licensed the car yet so it has not seen any highway use. However, the knock only is there if I idle it right down so much that it is fighting real hard to stay running, as in that video. The oil pressure never drops below about 25 pounds from what I have seen. I am second guessing that noise now. I am not positive that it is even a bearing knock. The break in oil is still in there. I plan to change it whenever I take the car to our dealership where I will have it on a hoist to do the exhaust. At that time I'm going to check the oil for filings but I'm not real convinced there will be any. If it was a bearing knock, I really think it would show up under other conditions such as throttle tip in, revving it up to higher rpm, cold, hot, something else and it's dead quiet under all those things.

just a thought, did you run it without the fan belt on, and firewall to bellhousing clearance are tight on some of those cars.

Fan belt was something I never considered. It didn't sound like anything belt driven but I have learned when diagnosing, never say never. Good idea.

another wheel that looks really sharp on those cars is the original Cragar SS. My buddy had a 63 Nova SS on Cragars and man that was nice. I like your wheels a lot though Carl.

 For help and assistance on auto glass contact (Google) Mr. Sig Herliczek of Pilkington Libbey Owens Ford (LOF) for GM Chevrolet cars and Mr. Frank  Lovett of Pittsburgh Plate Glass (PPG) for GM Pontiac cars.

 Note that while, to their credit, LOF is now reproducing (at LOF Plant 6 in Toledo, Ohio) original-marked dated glass, LOF is not currently marking their new OEM glass by the identical practices as was originally used - and in a number of cases these differences are easily observable to the trained eye.

....what a wonderful, clean-looking mid-60's GM package that is! When I was 15 and living just north of Toronto, a friend of my dad's came over one Saturday morning to take us fishing, in his brand new jet black Chevy Nova hardtop with a full-on red interior. It was only a 6/auto but man what a nice lookin' little bomb that was! Always remembered it. Your Canso reminds me so much of that car..great example with a great engine/tranny combol! Congrats on a great job...!
